As for those who thinks blu ray will flop due to the fact that you can get a hd movie online, think again. Online hd movies will not be standar until 2018(quote me on that if you want) simply because people dont have fast enough internett lines. And if everyone were to download a hd movie the internet would simply fall under the pressure. It takes time to improve the internet and such drastic infra structure measures as giving everybody a 100 mbits line would take a lot of time and money.

Don't start this topic again.

Simply put  - fiberoptics + HD streaming movies = end of optical media.

I give it no more than 5 years time at latest. If you're  paying attention to the pace of advances in networking, you'd never make the claim you made.

Quick perspective: You claim 10 years for higher speed internet for DLM to take place. 10 years ago was 1998. Think of the advances in technology and networking that have occured since then. 10 years is a lifetime in the world of technology. 5 years is a long time in itself, so I am generous when I say that the technology will be in place in 5 years time on this subject. When it reaches that point, optical media will be unneccesary plastic.
