Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which is better Call of Duty 4 or Resistance: Fall of Man

I'd say tie for MP. Resistance had fast paced heavily populated games with fun weapons. CoD4 had not so fast paced (if you just ran in you'd die) not as many people per server but the customization and objectives were great.

SP - Resistance hands down here. That "terrorist" bullshit is played out. Resistance had much better weapon selection in SP too. Better story. Better fights... No bosses in CoD4

Graphics - CoD4

COD4, but I've never played single player, so I'm not totally qualified. I have put over 4 full days into multiplayer though......

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

both are stunning games and both will give you much gaming.

resistance fall of man, came out under a scrutinising launch time hence mid 80`s score, if that had been general release lets say now it would have got a 9, because it has a long action packed story along with a thoroughly addictive multiplayer.

cod4 is better though, it contains improved visuals(mostly) and an even more addictive multiplayer system.

so i say cod4 is better, but resistance 2 will surely be better than cod4 and cod5

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

First off, let me say that both of these games are great, and two of the premiere FPS's in the gaming industry. Resistance has probably the best weapon selection in any next generation game to date, and the multiplayer options are amazing, but as far as excecution, graphics, and lobby, COD4 is a better game.  Overall I think Resistance is the better game due to the story and pretty good Co-Op,  but its close.  I think the gap will be much wider between COD5 and R2, with the latter being superior

cod4

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

call of duty 4 without having to think is so much better.

Not really a fair comparison I don't think; R:FOM was a great game but suffered as it was a launch title. A fairer comparison would be Resistance 2 when its released.

But, for pure arguments sake, COD4 is better overall.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned for Sega. - Jason Lee, Mallrats.

Singleplayer - Resistance 1. I liked the weapons, and I hated the respawning enemies in COD4. Especially when you play on Veteran. Just fucking annoying. The only saving grace in COD4's singleplayer was the sniper mission, and even that had a huge flaw. The last part was a pain in the butt with the enemy throwing probably 100 grenades total while I waited for the chopper.

Multiplayer - COD4. Hands down. I couldn't get into Resistance 1's multiplayer at all. COD4 managed to pry me away from CS:S for 2 weeks. Of course, I'm back to CS:S.

CoD4 for multiplayer, Resistance for singleplayer.  Resistance had co-op and a much much longer single player campaign.  I think my first play through of CoD4 was only about 5 hours.  Though CoD4 had a few great moments like the Sniper mission.

i personally liked call of duty 3 better.....but overall resistance for me.....for some odd reason cod 4 didnt appeal to me
