If the NA price drop effect is anything like the EU price drop effect, I wouldn't fault MS for cutting into their profits for a very small effect.

The EU price drop didn't have a "small" effect.  Take a look at the weekly numbers before and after the drop.

I mean small relative to the competition.  It's still being outsold on a weekly basis.

Um, since the Xbox360 is MUCH stronger in the U.S and they haven't cut prices in a LONG time. It would be reasonable to expect that the effect of a price cut will be much greater.

Microsoft has learned that the best way to make profits for them is to sale the console to the price that gives them no profits but no losses, and then let accessories and software(which is what the 360 is best at) to gain profits. So the price for manufacturing 360s will have to go down first.

Well don't forget that it will cause uprising from the investors and stock holders. Cuz dropping the price by $200 wont be profitable. Remember, investors are more important that customers to most companies....

If Microsoft made XBOX live free and intergrated wireless then i'd buy one.

 What about if they drop the price $50 and integrated wireless? That way they can still make mega $$$ off you anyway. (from the 2nd year onwards) :)
