Seriously Rock, give it a rest please. I am so tired of coming to gaming forum to read and discuss games and only find all the hate for Microsoft. Site like NeoGaf is full of Sony fanboys (and sadly it seems all the moderators are also). VGChartz wasn't so bad until the past few months where it seems every day there has to be a post bashing MS in some way.

Both company are corporation. They exist solely to make money and please their stockholder. I am not sure what Sony do for their home country but in the US or at least in Washington state, Microsoft provide a lot of donation for school and educational. They also donate a lot to children hospitals.

Gate Foundation also do a lot of charity work and provide a lot of funding for the poor and under develop. Personally, I find that to be a great thing that Gate is giving back to the community. What do past and present Sony CEO and founder do for community?

As for Windows and DOS, you can discuss the merit and de-merit of it all you want but without MS forcing the standard on OS we would still be back in the stone age of finding compatible drivers, installing game that take hours of tinkering and hair pulling. I hate many thing Microsoft do, like making IE part of the XP os but on the other hands the standard help bring about many good thing in computer.

I am not going to defend Microsoft certain business practice but they are no worst than any other corporation. Atari used to sue everybody and pretty much have the stranglehold on all thing video games which end up in the industry demise. Nintendo was the same way back during the 16bits cartridge era. Sony did the same thing to control the format and they bought out all the US media and movie studios so they not only controlling the hardware format but also the software.

Anyway, please give it a rest with all your MS flame-a-thon. Don't you have better thing to do like play Metal Gear Solid 4?

Microsoft, I think when you get down to it the world would be a horrible place without the inventions made by Microsoft. However, if Sony never existed Philips or LG or whoever would have taken their place quite comfortably.

I realised what I said came off kind of mean, I didnt mean it that way. More like I assumed you have only delt with XP and Vista. I started on DOS-SHELL with my 086. Fun times. Anyways, XP ran like crap on my computer when I first got it, I formated and went back to 98. Now I have Vista and a computer that meets the reqs for it and am pretty happy. Just have to get used to finding everything in its new places.
