Forums - Microsoft Discussion - X360 is sinking faster than the Titanic.

Who cares what sales of the console are like?

As long as 360 owners keep buying games and 3rd party vendors continue their strong support and owner should be happy. In this generation console sales are pretty meaningless so far.

Wii is still outselling everything (except this last week because of MGS4) and 3rd parties are still not jumping on with their AAA games... 360 has been outsold by PS3 since December, but 3rd parties are still bringing all the same games to it. PS3 has the natural advantage from winning the last generation, but content makers are showing more support to Microsoft then Sony so far. Console sales are only one part to the equation and for the other parts, Microsoft is not sinking at all.

The fan boys on VGChartz care a lot about console sales. It is my life knowing the console sales. PS3 outsells the 360 I am happy for the week. I do not follow any sporting teams. PS3 is like my sporting team. Go PS3 Go

Starcraft and slimebeast care a lot about their 360 selling consoles every week. the Nintendo camp: Soriku, Neos and Waron, etc care so much about the Wii outselling the 360 and PS3 combined. the Wii fans create there threads for every extra 0.1% increase in Wii market share, every one million consoles the Wii sells, etc.

How is it possible that 360 is sinking? I've read some weird articles that 360 is bringing in profit for sold consoles at the moment. Looks like it sells quite a few games too and don't forget live subscriptions. :)

How much Sony loses per one Ps3 sold? 200$?

Sony fanboys ignore those losses just like they ignore the Wii.

Truth is, no one knows how much is lost per PS3 sold.  Speculation abounds, but there is no "true" answer.  The only one that knows the answer to that question is Sony Computer Entertainment.

OT:

I don't believe the 360 is "sinking", but the PS3 is easily outselling the 360 on a weekly basis (thirty-something weeks and counting), while being the harder system to develop for, getting slipshod ports, and being the more expensive machine.  I think that it does speak volumes for the name of the PLAYSTATION brand in the video game world, as the XBOX 360 should handidly be beating the PS3 with it's (arguably, but true) stronger lirbrary of games, non-slip-shod ports, lower price point, and snatching up exclusives left and right.

So while the XBOX 360 may not be "sinkng faster than the Titanic", it is not doing that well either.  It's doing pretty poor compared to the PS3 for the reasons above.

I'm not going to argue for either side, because both sides are at each others necks. Honestly, can you not see from Rock On's posts that this is a trolling thread? He literally spells it out with his doom and gloom posts scattered here and there. I'm going to lock this because it's clearly turning into a fanboy war.

The overheating of the poorly designed 360 hardware is causing the loss of 360 console sales. How about fix the design of the X360 make is less likely to break down. Oh that would not matter its too late. The X360 has a bad reputation and reputation is important in winning customers and maintaining customers.
A two to six week waiting period for a 360 repair job is offset with a free month of XBox Live. Hey that is a slap in the face. People want a console that is reliable and less than 2% hardware failure. Both PS3 and Wii have less than 2% hardware failure rates.
