Well I'm a heavy overclocker and if the GTX 260 is a very power consuming, and hot card then I won't get it even if it is more powerful.

That's 1,400,000,000 transistors baby. 1.4 effing billions.

but from what I have seen on many wabsites the GTX 280 can be overclocked by 28% on air and 45% on water (phase change is like 60%)

@ Fazz, Hm I might buy then. I will look more into it though.

to bad noone will be able to afford it,only some rich dudes will get it

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

I think the realistic numbers for the PS3 - 500gflops and the 360, dunno about 400? Since the other consoles released previously are inconsiquencial in terms of their capabilities... This is probably a realistic assertion.

Tease.

Is this your usual no-proof FUD?  I'd like to see where you read a 28%-45% OC on a GTX280.

Because here its more like 16% average.  http://www.gpureview.com/gpureviews-gtx-280-amp-gtx-260-overclocking-round-up-article-688.html

Oh and when are you going to replace your trash 8400GS?

crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.

^ By "next" you mean the R800? Or the RV770? Because even the Radeon HD4850 that will sell for ~$200 is around 40% better for games than the 9800GTX.

You do realize we are at the point that a stronger GPU isnt even needed. What is the point of being able to run Crysis at 300fps?

Actually, nVidia's latest card, the $649 GTX 280, can barely average 30 fps in Crysis at 1920x1200 (comparable to 1080p), high quality: http://techreport.com/articles.x/14934/13

What was the point of this response?  33.7 isn't much closer to 300, and it leaves plenty of room for worthwhile improvement.

I think this video is somehow related to the chip , looks cool.
