Sales were better than I expected. I'm guessing helped along a fair bit by the $100 blu ray promotion. That one was posted pretty prominently in all the hot deal forums around the net, seemed like a lot of people picked it up due to that.

Good sales for the ps3. lets hope this will carry through to next week

Good week for PS3. I'm pretty positive most of the hardware increase was due to the 80 gig SKU and not MGS4 (though MGS4 probably boosted it a little like it did in Europe). Next week i see PS3 selling under 100k.

I'm not sure what Nintendo has planned for all the Wii's being stockpiled, i wonder which region they will show up in haha (i'm assuming EU for smash bros.). I think Nintendo didn't think that the 80 gig would sell so much hence not shipping any Wii's to NA, or they don't care about selling the most because the US dollar is weak right now. They are producing 2.4 mil a month, America has no Wii's available selling only120k / week, Where did they go Reggie?

Well technically it could take this week with some adjustments later down the line.

Sorry, we were busy checking out the abysmal MGS4 hardware boost in Others.

These numbers are pretty good for the PS3. 

Certainly not at the level some PS3 fans were predicting, but nonetheless I feel that met most reasonable expectations.

Now of course, we can prepare for the true test.  With Sony unable to afford a price drop until the very end of the year at the earliest, and no more PS2 upgrader titles for probably a year at least, how long will the MGS4 boost last?

It needs to last at least two months to be meaningful in my opinion.  We'll see.

The true winner this week is Konami of course.  Excellent MGS4 sales.
