Pilot Wings and Pilot Wings 64 were ok. This wouldn't be in my top 10 Wii games though.

This is one of those games that I'm perfectly aware I have disproportionately fond memories of. I got it for Christmas at a tender age when gaming was still fresh and young and new. Even still, I'm very excited :p

Not an official title. Rumors we're already there since beginning last year, so I have my doubts about it. The game supposed to be released on the Gamecube and never did either.

Pilotwings would definitely round off Nintendo's library nicely... Pilotwings for SNES was one of their more "serious" games, although Pilotwings 64 did take it in a somewhat less mature direction. Ah, I still fondly remember the Speed Racer's dad lookalike yelling at me for screwing up. He definitely needs to be in the next installment, if one exists. I'd pick it up, just for him.

I sincerely hope the N64 version will appear on the Virtual Console. The original looks horrible on a LCD TV, like the rest of N64 games, so would most definitely download the game as soon as it hits the VC.

Is it correct that the Americans have the SNES version on the Virtual Console? Or were those rumors of last year false?

I have those same disproportionately fond memories of certain games. One of my all time favorite games is Totally Rad because i used to rent it all the time when i was like 6. I own it now and see how horrible it is yet still need to play it (and enjoy it) from time to time. some other ones were Dinosaurs for Hire and Snoopy's Silly Sports Spectacular.

I'm pretty sure we don't have Pilotwings, or I would've purchased it already.  :)

There has been an unofficial Pilotwings title for the Wii in the works for some time now.  Controlling a parachute or airplane/hangglider with the Wii controller would be quite awesome.

I´m with you 100% Bodhesatva, I never knew why Ninendo didn´t build up on this great searies, the Snes and 64 games where great and fit perfectly into the expand the market strategie plus is could bring the Wii controlls to a new level, just think of flying a gyrocopter or jetpack with two Wii-motes, plus the Islands on the 64 where relly sweet for the time, I knew tonns of people who didn´t care for most mario games but loved this sort of thing.
