Forums - Gaming Discussion - Atlus's recent survey raing interesting questions

I just finished taking a survey sent by Atlus asking about what time of gamer I am.

Apart from the obvious questions (Genre Preference, what aspects of I game are most important, do famous names influence your purchase), the survey asked about the gaming consoles you owned.

The choices included

Xbox 360

Playstation 3

Both

Neither

This can be taken in two ways, either Atlus feels none of its customers own a Wii, and don't have any new plans involving Wii games (Yes I know about Dokapon Kngdom, but that game is already announced and isn't being made by Atlus, and is a port of the PS2 verson)

Or they feel confident about the userbase on the Wii and are not sure where the rest of them have gone Xbox 360/Playstation 3 and want to know for future reference.

Either way,  it look like Atlus wants to see what percentage of its customers own each HD console.

Discuss.

Well, Atlus has released an odd number of 360 exclusives so far. Maybe they're reevaluating that strategy and going multiplat or ps3 exclusive.

I really don't know how to take that...it's like you said, they either don't care about the Wii owners, or they feel safe with Wii owners and are now just worrying about the HD owners. I sure hope it's the second one..

It might have to do with the Shin Megami Tensei game that was announced in... 2005.

Of which we've heard nothing about since it was announced.

Maybe they want to see if it's worth it to go Multi-plat for that game... or another 360 game.

Seems the most likely option to me.

The beginning of wisdom is understanding that you know nothing.

Unless someone here works at Atlus, any comment would be speculation.

However, I would venture to propose that this survey was possibly created before the Wii gained popularity.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I thought the SMT game was Persona 4, originally announed for the ps3 then moved to the ps2?

I'm probably wrong, though, lol.

This, pretty much. The purpose of the question is to find out how many Atlus fans own which HD console, and not to purposefully exclude the Wii for some reason. Doubtless Atlus has its own plans for everyone's favorite little white rectangle.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Nope. The SMT game was never given a title. Which makes me think it wasn't going to be a Persona game... cause they would of just said Persona 4. (To my knowledge anyway)

I imagine it would be... I mean look at the Trauma Center games. They've sold really well on the Wii.

Well for Atlus anyway.

Personally i'd perfer a Shin Megami Tensei game on PS3/360 multiplatform... PS3 for me... and 360 for my friend so she can play it on her boyfriends 360.

Which they might do, considering Nintendo might be a bit iffy about the whole premise and i can't see the Wiimote improving the series.

Of course all of this is speculation, but that is what makes it interesting.

It is very possible the survey was created a year or so ago and only released it now.

Also, wow I failed at writing he topic name. "raing" and"Atlus\'s". I'm suprised nobody has made fun of it yet.
