It's taking a hell a lot of time for them to announce it!! I think it won't happen...

Regardless once those titles make it to the PS3, it won't boost anything considering the hype is already lost due to the game already released on the Xbox 360.

You're right, the damage has till been done, but I would rather get the game later than never.

I hope you PS3-only users do get the game, but I just have this feeling that its more than likely going to be pushed back something terribly.

I mean look at Eternal Sonata, its being released in Japan but no worldwide release date for Europe or America. And Ace Combat 6 I believe is a exclusive to the Xbox 360, and then Star Ocean 4 well I think it will probably come out sometime when Final Fantasy XIII releases or sometime after or before.

It's a shame looking at how the succesor to an RPG's console (PS2) isn't doing or getting the respect it deserves :(

so4 will eventually release on ps3, and will make more money than 360 version, i guess microshaft have given them cash for a timed exclusive, theres only really one confirmed 360 exclusive thats infinite discovery for 360, the rest are multiplat or will be multiplat.

ps3 still has better rpg`s upcoming especially final fantasy 13 which i reckon will sell 10 million copies. for only into its second year the ps3 is looking solid. i dont understand why people have started moaning just because 360 will have a couple of rpg`s released before ps3 gets them. they wont sell well on 360 anyways.

Whether it is a full exclusive or timed exclusive, I'll be buying it on the 360 now. It was the final straw for me. I'm sick of Sony thinking I'll wait forever to play these games. I did that for Eternal Sonata and now it appears it won't even be coming to the US...way to mislead your loyal customers Sony.

And then after Eternal Sonata comes Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, then Last Remnant is a timed exclusive now too....then SO4. Sony has taken a big dump of poop on the heads of all its loyal diehards like me from over the years. Slap me once, I'll take it...slap me twice and I'll boot your ass to the highway....

But you still got to love the innocent PS3 that is looking at you in your face right now

Yeah...money can do pretty much anything in today's world though.

And Microsoft is using their money good, stealing all of the excellent JRPG's and getting them exclusive on their console first.

Maybe things can turn around for the PS3 in the coming years. It just was surprising to see that Star Ocean 4 was exclusive and its a Microsoft console let alone Square Enix annoucing it...lol

Yeah, I honestly didn't think SE and Tri-Ace were going to trust the 360 with an IP like SO. I understand new IPs like IU...but I thought it was going to be like FF and too big to give to a console that doesn't sell well in Japan. But oh well.

 @Riachu

Yeah...still, if it doesn't come to the PS3, I'll just have to get a 360 as soon as possible.

I have a feeling S-E are experimenting with the market potenial of JRPGs on the 360 by releasing some on the platform.  Lost Odyssey proved there is a decent market for them on the 360.  However, it is possible for it to be expanded and that is probably what S-E is trying to do

You act like Sony is the one sending all these JRPGs to the 360. You act like it isn't MS's moneyhatting at all. You think Sony wants all this to happen? You're delusional if you think Sony wants 360 to have all these RPGs. MS just has the bigger wallet. Sony isn't pooping on your head, MS is...and you're buying their console after they do.

But you fail to realize is that if those games were exclusive to the PS3, the PS3 will have a large increase in hardware units sound. Now that Microsoft secured time exclusive rights to those games. The momentum for the PS3 increasing in hardware has subsided.

Think about it Microsoft only reason to get those games time exclusive was to kill any momentum Sony had when Final Fantasy XIII was to be released. Now the PS3 will still be selling those same amount of units the next coming months or so while everyone in Japan and America are looking at Tales of Vesperia and The Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4 on the 360, saying "WTF is wrong with the PS3!!!"

i have a question, why do you care THIS much???
i mean game is coming some time in 2009, maybe after ONE year.
What the point now to discuss and what??? IN ONE year MANY things CAN CHANGE.

It`s NOT big deal, since PS3 is getting FFXIII and FFXIIIv!
BEST rpgs, TOP sellers.
FF game can sell 5-10 mln. SO4 at best case 1 mln. LTD.

Just USE your brains, it`s just a Star Ocean game - NOTHING comapred to Final Fantasy.

Every 5 seconds on earth one child dies from hunger...

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

That's because Square Enix to my knowledge is no longer using Japan as a sign of their games selling well. They are thinking about how huge the Xbox 360 userbase is for the rest of the world (America, Europe and etc,)

Exactly my point. Square Enix as you said sees that there is a JRPG market for the Xbox 360 crowd and they are trying to target it since the PS3 isn't doing anything as far as hardware is concerned to them.
