Forums - Gaming Discussion - LOL, Who thinks that XBOX 360 J-RPG announcement infuriated Japanese Gamers

This will actually be interesting, I was shocked that Microsoft apparently bought everything that Square Enix is making in Japan. (That or blackmail)

I predict that once most of the games are released, it will help sales to the tune of around 30k/week in Japan. If more small RPG devs follow suit and make games for the 360, it could go as high as 50k/week.

Of course, my predictions are often off by one key indicator (A week early, a week late, 3 million off in the case of Mario & Sonic), but this was an interesting turn.

Wow. I haven't visited this place for a while and first thing I see is all these angry and bitter talks. I'd probably only get pissed if they suddenly announce FF13 and FFv13 were exclusive to xbox 360 because i bought my PS3 basically for sole purpose of those 2 games. Then I'd get over it and then go out and buy a 360.

Currently loving my Wii x2, Xbox 360 Pro & Xbox 360 Arcade, and Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children Limited "Cloud Black" 160GB PS3

GAMEFLY & GOOZEX FTW

No the ds is getting more and better Jrpgs.

Trolling thread.

OT: No, it's not. Not everyone in Japan owns a PS3.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Are you nuts? Wii is struggling to do 50k each week! The only thing it might do is kill those franchises in Japan. Japanese will not buy a 360 because it's American and they only buy Japanese video games. The Japanese absolutely love everything about the American culture except the video games. They listen to American music and watch American movies but with video games, they support their own culture instead.

As a Japanese, I have to say the OP is telling the truth. I think MS should accept the fact that the 360 is already dead in Japan. All this does is ensures poor sales for the titles here.

Godot: Mostly nuts, yes. Of note, if you expect sanity on the internet, you too are pretty much nuts.

But I'll stand by my prediction and admit I was horribly horribly wrong if the case will be. I'm not exactly divine in my predictions, it doesn't shame some god if I'm wrong.
