Sony shipped +5million if it was shipped the number would be much bigger.
It says sold. Vendue's = Sold.
However, it doesn't actually give a real source. It says an internal source from Sony.
Wow!! Yay!! Cool!!! But there still isn't much games to play. Anyway.... VG states 0.94m as others.... I believe it is Europe... Wat about Asia, Australia, Middle East? I think they are classified as others too... Therefore VG is wayyyy OFF!
I guess when you're doing that badly, 100k makes a difference.
Sony generally reports sold as in sold to retailers though. Until somebody says something official, this is rumor anyways.

Since this number is coming from Sony it is probably number of consoles shipped. As far as i've seen Sony always reports shipped numbers, but of course they hide it under the name 'sold' meaning sold to retailers. Microsoft does the same thing.

Sonys "Europe" means everything not North America or Japan.
