Shin Asura from PS3forums has started an RPG Petition for the ps3.

Simply put, the ps3 needs more traditional JRPG's.

We understand that development of RPG's takes a long time and that the developers for the ps3 received their kits later. However, 1.5 years is PLENTY of time to make some announcments. The fact remains that OTHER RPG's are being announced but not JRPG's.

Sony needs to quit ignoring their home market in Japan and the other faithful JRPG fans around the world and address the issue. We would just like acknowledgment of the lack of JRPG's and a simple announcement that you will address this need. Tell us, "THE JRPG'S ARE COMING!!!"

Only three exclusive JRPG's have been announced for the US: White Knight Story, FFXIII, and FFvsXIII. And those three games have no release dates as of yet. I am not including Disgaea 3 or Valkyria Chronicles since they are SRPG's.

So, although petitions are stupid, join in this one and support a good cause. I fell in love with Sony because of the JRPG's on the psone and ps2. Give me a reason to fall in love with them again.

WKC, FFXIII, and FFvXIII aren't necessarily the only JRPGs on the PS3, just the only high-profile ones.

The only exclusive, announced JRPG's for the US outside of SRPG's (like Disgaea 3 & Valkyria Chronicles) which aren't included are those three. Check out my RPG thread in my sig.

In fact the only other JRPG that is not a Strategy RPG that has been announced in addition for Japan is Steambot Chronicles 2.

But it at least makes Sony aware of the fact that a bunch of loyal ps3 fans really, really want some JRPG's.

Making them aware of the problem is the first step.  So this is just a baby step to make Sony recognize the desire from its fans.

I rather think I'm better than other idiots (and believe me, I don't mean anybody here) who are naive enough to actually think a petition would do anything.

Well, at least you aren't wasting your money on it. :)

These don't do anything. I'm sure Sony is well aware its console is facing a dearth of JRPG's.

I'm also quite confident they believe FFXIII will change all that.

 Well, they better hurry.  JRPGs are arguably one of the primary reasons why PS1 and PS2 were the best selling systems in their respective generations

I'm confused, what exactly are you petitioning and how is it supposed to work?

You send it to Sony...then what? They kidnap some Japanese developers and force them at gunpoint to make a new JRPG? "Announcing" that they're goin to address something they've never acknowledged as a problem isn't actually going to do much.
