I have interests far beyond gaming, so every so often I'm going to start up a topic to keep the forums interesting in the lull periods...

So..Major League Baseball...I like the Phillies and I like the White Sox.

I hate the Yankees, Mets, Braves, Marlins, Cubs, Cardinals.

I hate Joe Carter...(93' Worldseries hero...for Toronto)

I have the following teams making the playoffs this year...

NL: Mets, Phillies, Brewers, Padres

AL: Red Sox, Cleveland, Detroit, Oakland

Division Series: 

Brewers over Mets - 5 games

Phillies over Padres - 3 games

Red Sox over Detroit - 5 games

Cleveland over Oakland - 5 games

 Championship Series:

Phillies over Brewers - 7 games

Cleveland over Red Sox - 7 games

Worldseries:

Cleveland over Phillies - 6 games

Predictions:

Bonds will break the record in August

Griffey & Sosa will get to 600...eventually

Thomas will get to 500

Phillies lose their sports-franchise leading 10,000th game in July..

If you hate the Yankees, conversely you must love the Red Sox, so you're cool with me even though you hate the Braves, my favorite underachievers. ;)

I like the red sox simply because I hate the yankees, but you can argue that the red sox aren't any different the yankees nowadays, since they DO have the second highest payroll in the league.

Only Curt Schilling could blow a no-hitter with one out to go..for things like that, I am glad I'm not a professional athlete..because in just about any other field, perfection is so far out of reach that you can never ever come close.  In baseball, great pitchers at the apex of their ability can be perfect..one, twice, even three times in life.
