Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Infinity Ward, makers of COD4 dont want to develop for the Wii

I use the lock-on targeting in MP3 because I believe it allows a more natural method of targeting than the complete free-aim does. And *not* in the same aspect as auto-lock of gamepad-fps games either.

The lock-on in MP3 is more for camera control than targeting, really. It keeps your camera centered on the big, scary boss so that you can strafe around and aim at the weak points. Pretty important for guided missiles, too.

The FPS haven will be the last one to be destroyed by the Wii.
I'll reserve my lulz for when it happens.

Yes cause it's really struggling this gen.

CoD 4 : 10 millions copies

Halo 3 : 8 millions

Gears of War : 5 millions

RFoM : 3 millions

I have a feeling you completely missed what Bored4life was trying to say.

OT: All the thread OP stated was that they don't plan on porting COD4 to the Wii, it didn't say ANYTHING about them not wanting to support the console in the future....so the title of this thread is rather misleading (unless I'm missing something)..

Developers are looking at it and deciding that they can develop for Wii or for HD consoles.

With some games, it is almost one or the other. The Wii is a different animal. More loved than either the PS3 or Xbox 360 separately -- but about the same combined.

So for developers, they have to make choices. This is not like previous generations where the consoles all had similar capabilities. The Wii is not as powerful as the other two. So some games are just not going to be done for it. However, it has unique control possibilities, which means it will have exclusives.

I can accept that without having to hate on developers (unless they make really callous statements).

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Is it boycott infinity ward time yet?

Or have wii owners finally realised not every developer is duty bound to make games for their console?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Come on guys... I own the PC version and I know more about the console version than you do.  There is a problem here.  >_<

Thats it,

infinity ward=ubisoft

I feel a ninty fanboy boycott coming there way

@ Naz

Seriously!

I've played half the single player, and haven't locked onto a single opponet yet.

It definitely was never mentioned in-game.

People should remember lock on, Gaz shows you how to do it in the first five minutes of the game, on the base. Remember the indoor shooting range?

My first post was about auto aim, not lock on. My apologies.

Also there is certainly no need to hate on a developer who is open about their development preferences. If they have enough respect for gamers not to lie to them about it (or insult a console just cause they don't make games for it) we should at least show them respect as well.

Hmmm... flame bait. IW said that CoD4 did not fit on the Wii, not that they did not want to develop games on the Wii. Very misleading title.

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.
