Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is anyone looking forward to playing Silent Hill 5?

Here is some gameplay videos of Silent HIll 5: Homecoming (PS3, Xbox 360):

Tonight I was kinda bummed at the fact Silent Hill: Origins wasn't all that great to me. I played it for about a maximum of 2 hours into the game and I just dropped it totally. The gameplay wasn't what I expected and some of the elements like the controls and combat system was not good at all.

Plus "Team Silent" the original creators of Silent Hill (PS1), Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams (PS2, Xbox), Silent Hill 3 (PS2), and Silent Hill 4: The Room (PS2, Xbox), were not to be found. Konami relieved on Climax Group to make the game. The same can be said for Silent Hill 5: Homecoming.

This game is not being developed by Team Silent. It's being developed by The Collective. They are an American developer that produced Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the original Xbox.

It's sad seeing what Konami is allowing this franchise to go.

What do you guys think about this game and the franchise in general?

Around the Network

I've never played them before but I heard they were pretty darn good, especially the earlier games. I might consider getting the new one. What's the release date?

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Meh, doesn't look as good as the old ones. We all know people like Rock2008 won't buy it because graphics count the most to them, and this game doesn't have good graphics.

yes, sh 2 was the best.

I played Silent Hill 2: Restless on the PS2 before. But never finished it.

It truly is a good game, I'm giving Silent Hill: Origins for the PSP another try before giving up on it altogether.
