Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Anecdotal: Microsoft low on Xbox 360 coffins

that's some funny chit man LOL.... sorry but I don't feel sorry for anyone that buys brand new h/w without an extended warranty.... BTW, I haven't even turned off my PS3 since I started folding.

Microsoft definately needs to do something or the system could start tanking and plummit into PS3 sales levels.

Great way to put in a PS3 bash in there completely out of nowhere and unrelated to the topic...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Wow, I don't know what to say. I can understand machines post-launch being flakey (i.e. PS2), but this is well more than a year after launch. Jeez - how hard can it be to find/fix the problem for good?

But a few people had their 360s die on them after the warranty became void.

This is really getting out of hand; the 360 still didn't cross the 2 year mark for crying out loud.

My guess is that they tried to cut expenses by using several cheap and crappy components. Hopefully the industry as a whole has taken note of this, and realised the cost of replacing a large amount of consoles is smaller than doing things right the first place.

I sure as hell don't want this type of reliability to become the industry standard with the next generation.

I had my 360 die on my after warrenty, but Microsoft still changed it for free!
I have no problems with it. its all about the quality games. asnd for that I don't care about hardware problerms.
I had the same problems with my PS2, I went through 3 PS2 consoles in 6 years, but I kept going with it because the games were better than the other consoles. now I've switched to Microsoft for the same reason. so you can speak about faulty units unit your blue in the face, it won't change the hardware or software figures because real gamers want to play the best games. and the Xbox 360 has the best games this time around. thats a fact through the numbers that we get every month.
so this topic means nothing. games are always going to mean more than hardware!
thats why nobody cares about the PS3 this time. its got all the bells and fancy tech, but without software its just an expensive piece of kit that nobody has any use for.
I saved up my money to buy a PS3, but the 360 all over is just much better value for money.

How is it bashing?

Wow. The average x360 has near a Tamgotchi life-circle expectency. I wonder how many elites were recalled due to RRoD

Who knows but having a thread based on anecdotal evidence is pretty sad.

The ironic thing is that everyone jumps to the "oh man, they've had to fix so many systems that they don't have enough repair boxes".

Why not think of the fact that maybe, just maybe, someone didn't order enough boxes? Stock runs out all the time on things, and things get tight. Thats why there's a thing called "re-ordering".

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
