Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft responds to Wii-owners upset with quality of titles

Hahaha, this guy really doesn't represent Ubisoft, but it's funny that he doesn't realize that he's doing absolutely no favours for Ubi at all. He just talks out his ass and tells potential customers that they don't know what they want. I think he's going to be getting some stern emails from Ubisoft's PR dept.

I kinda suspect that Ubisoft might be holding some Wii projects back for E3 or something. We all know that they're working on Red Steel 2, but no mention of it at all at Ubidays. They just didn't realize they were bungling things with the dearth of core Wii announcements at Ubidays. I get a chuckle out their PR floundering.

lol if this hits N4G ubi's got an issue XD, but money talks... or lack there of.

I've always had ubisoft on notice since prince of persia, I never intended to buy a game from them again. I bought Assassins Creed next boy was that crap - I remember Ubi from Prince of Persia the first one, that was good... whatever happened.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Well I cant boycott Ubisoft if they are not releasing quality games on the Wii. Cuz if they do, then I will buying their stuff then,

When it comes to stockholders, they care about maximizing profits. If anything, developing on the PS360 and the Wii are not mutually exclusive, but can be done in tandem.

The question is, it should be common sense now that with such a large userbase on the Wii, potential profits for developing a game for PS360 + Wii >>> potential profits for developing a game just for the PS360.

Missing out on a large cash source that's just lying that for the picking would upset a lot of the investors.

honestly developers are getting reallyyyyyyyyyy lazy with the wii.

I mean the graphics for some of the new wii games are getting close to the DS level. That's really a shame considering that wii can do twice better than gamecube which had decent graphics for its time.

you should blame games like carnival or any shovelware that sells more than 500,000 units(which translates to lots of profit for the game dev companies)

I think lots of wii owners(hardcore gamers like most of you guys here) will start playing on PC or PS3/360 in addition to the wii.wii is getting 3rd party support but it's getting the weirdest support.

the more casual games sell on the wii,the more dev teams will conclude (mistakenly I might add) that wii mostly needs casual titles .

Well, another method to change those companies' minds is for Nintendo to purchase a considerable amount of shares to increase their bargaining power.

I agree, but we don't care if ubisoft gives us casual games. We care that they give us shitty games. At least nintendo's casual games are fun. How is playing with babies fun? How is it suppose to target the whole family? I hope all of these games fail. Most developers are seeing what the wii needs. Even EA sees it. Ubisoft thinks casual games= random shit made in a minute. The only thing left that would make me happy to see on the wii from ubisoft is a rayman platformer, and that most likely won't happen. I'm happy that there are devlopers out there like sega who are supporting the wii rightfully.

yea I see what you mean,,,yea the quality of some of their titles are bad,,it's like it was developed in 1 month by a team of 2.the idea isn't even fun,,,how fun is it to feed and do boring stuff with a baby?

I think the next big franchise that they ahve in mind is called Imagine me and my horsy 2.honestly ,what's up with the name of their games?why do they keep putting 'Z' at the end ?

Pesonally I don't give a damn about Ubisoft. If they don't make the games, someone else will.

Tecmo - Fatal Frame IV, Tecmo Bowl, Rygar
Namco - Tales of Symphonia, Fragile, Sky Crawlers
Sega - Samba di Amigo, MadWorld, Shiren the wanderer
High Voltage - The Conduit, Animales de la Muerte
SquareEnix - Crystal Bearers
LucasArts - Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Little Red - Mushroom Men
Marvelous - Project O
EA (!) - Sim City Creators, Spore, Skate It
Capcom - Monster Hunter 3
THQ - De Blob, Deadly Creatures

Note: These are all Wii exclusives that have yet to come out. For all Wii games in 2008 see: http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?start=100&id=14526

Why care about Ubisoft. It's clear that there are loads of core games coming and Ubisoft is stupid for fleeing upmarket. They're not Epic and iD, they need the big audience and they'll miss it. And once they've noticed that, EA is so far ahead on Wii that Ubisoft can't even try to make up for it.

Edit: added Sky Crawlers

you forgot sky crawlers from namco benga
