Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft responds to Wii-owners upset with quality of titles

I really wish knew a way to contact them online some way without being ignored. The only thing in that email would be the first link in my sig. They know nothing of what nintendo is trying to do, and when other publishers/devs make money of hardcore and casual games alike on the wii Ubisoft will be far behind. They still don't seem to get the ds, while everybody is making big money of hardcore games and casual games on it. Also if you are going to make a casual game for the wii, make a good one. Not a crappy Imagine: Babyz game. Those casual games on the top of the wiis sale charts are all good casual games.

It's hard to argue with that. He's a bit black and white on the subject of what sells on the Wii, but Ubisoft really has a way of putting the right games into the right market. They don't really address what many people see as the problem with Ubi's Wii support, which is the actual quality of these "casual" titles they're putting on the Wii. A family oriented game does not necessarily need to mean a low quality, low budget, glitchy mess of crap.

Ubisoft makes more Wii owners angry. This will not be turned out good. So boycott Ubi then?

As for the topic,  Ubi didnt realized that Wii owners arent soccer moms and little kids, most of us wii owners are real gamers who plays the NES and the SNES during its time. Seems Ubi forget that. And Ninty upstreaming the market only makes it worse for Ubi,  Ninty  bridge non gamers into the market with SMG, SSBB, Mario Kart Wii, etc...

What if the Wii market with Ninty's upstreaming just change course and became core gamer? What will happen to Ubi?

This isn't that new, but it hasn't been discussed here.

Anyway, I still think Ubisoft can eat babiez excrement for all I care. They want us to defer our judgement on their games until we've played them, and that's only fair. But that would only be delaying the inevitable fact (no subjectivity here) that their Shaun White game, and their dreadful babiez games will receive mediocre or abysmal reviews.

First, I want you or any other company to make "amazing new AAA games" and then you can complain about them not selling.

Agreed, The amazing AAA games on the wii are made by nintendo, and they sell either amazingly or good.

Edit: Oh @ the snowboarding game thing. What would people rather have on wii? Prince of Persia or a Multiplat Snowboarding Game?

All I have to say is that is an arrogant and lazy answer. No one was complaining
about graphics bot having 360 levels, but actually graphics looking as bad as shit.
Put some more efforts, you are a good company, why the fuck give us crappy versions when we are paying the same?
Also when I started gaming I was a little kid and I for sure didn't enjoy some BABYZ CATZ DOGZ crap, I was playing Zelda ALttP, SMW, MKombat, SF2, SMRPG, FF.
Kids do not enjoy the kind of crap you are releasing, only babies do, and thats not even 1% of the people who own a Wii. Try to put some fucking effort on your work lazy chimps.

Again I'll repeat myself: F*** you Ubisoft.

Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

It'll be a tough pill for me to swallow if I ever buy another Ubisoft game.

Honestly? I'd rather have the snowboarding game. We we're all asking for someone to make a snowboarding game once the balance board was unveiled and here it is. Graphics aside, this could be a fun game, and will probably play the best on the Wii with balance board support.

Prince of Persia is a very good looking game, and the art direction is really driving anticipation. I know what everyone is going to say, "Graphics don't matter Onyx!". They really do in this case. The art direction on Prince of Persia is amazing and a lot will be lost in translation if they try to fit this onto the Wii. To compare, imagine an Okami port to the N64 and think of how much of the art direction would have been lost. Not to mention that Ubisoft tried to port Prince of Persia to the Wii already and the results were subpar. I can't see any reason why this game would benefit from motion controls over button presses or even equal them.

Also I find it funny that in this topic everyone is boycotting Ubisoft games for the Wii and a few topics down everyone is begging Ubisoft for a Red Steel sequel.

Its not that Ubisoft the only one makes snowboarding for the Wii anyway, Skate it by EA was a good example of this and in teaser trailer so far, it will be 10 times better than Shaun White snowboarding.
