Forums - Gaming Discussion - Guitar Hero 3, do i go PS3 or Wii?

ps3!

Resistance owns!!!!!111 one!

DLC is king in my book. I played the shit out of GH3 at a friend's house and never bought it for myself because I got sick of the songs. If I could've downloaded the songs for he previous two Guitar Hero games, I would've bought it in a heartbeat. Especially that Amazon $60 deal. Shit, maybe I should've bought it anyway....

Anyway, I think I'd say go Wii, despite what I just said. GH4 for Wii will have DLC, so you might as well buy 3 for the Wii so you can have the controller once 4 comes out. That way you'll have rumble, controller audio feedback, AND DLC. Perfect, really.

My consoles and the fates they suffered:

Atari 7800 (Sold), Intellivision (Thrown out), Gameboy (Lost), Super Nintendo (Stolen), Super Nintendo (2nd copy) (Thrown out by mother), Nintendo 64 (Still own), Super Nintendo (3rd copy) (Still own), Wii (Sold)

A more detailed history appears on my profile.

Ps3.. it runs way smoother. Its a lot more accurate when you hit notes.
The wii one is just harder for me, and its the version I own :((
Really?  I thought the PS3 version was innacurate enough....

Isn't the Wii version cheaper?

Anyway, I'd suggest the Wii one if you don't mind about the lack of DLC. And I believe the stereo-mono problem was fixed.

No, the Wii version is not cheaper.  Amazon has each version for $69.99.  Additionally, extra guitars are $59.99 and Guitar Hero Aerosmith is $99.99 for each, and Guitar Hero IV is $189.99 for each.

As an owner of both a PS3 and a Wii, I'd go for the PS3 version.  I have the Wii version.  Yes, it vibrates and makes noises.  But I don't feel this adds to the realism of playing a guitar at all.  I feel it's more of a gimmick.  Plus, I hate getting the controller out of the Wii when I have four people over for some Wii action.

The PS3 has DLC, which will extend the game greatly, even if you only buy a few songs, and the PS3 version looks better if you have an HDTV.  It'd be my choice hands down but I got the Wii and Guitar Hero for it first.  Still a great game either way.  Not that I care about DLC now that I have Rock Band for the PS3

if you will buy DLC then buy the ps3 version if not go for the wii version since it costs 10$ cheaper

The Wii version is better but that is just my opinion. It also costs less and that is a fact.

PS3 since it adds more value to the package, but Wii version if you want a cheaper game.
