In totals, yes... In first week, nope... DQ and FF are very frontloaded... But we're talking about SQ-E now... So that's why I took FF to compare to DQ in terms of saletrends...

The PSP will catch the DS in Japan around the same time the PS3 catches the Wii in Japan.

The PSP is the media player and Monster Hunting system of choice in Japan.

If I'm not mistaken the Dragon Quest series has always been characterized by simple, stylized art and relatively simple mechanics. The visual style won't significantly benefit from added horsepower and it's always been essentially a softcore RPG so there's no reason to expect sales to improve by selling it to a smaller hardcore audience.

DQX will come out at 2011 at the earliest. Why on earth would they publish their premier franchise onto a 7 year old system?

Nope. DQ X will either go DS, Nintendo Handheld 4, Wii, N6, PS3, or PS4. I doubt it would ever go on PSP, unless it was PSP2.

think its reatarted to say that PSP is the system off chose in japan, especially not for developers... except from Monster hounter almost nothing sell on the system. A system that have higer hardware numbers and software numbers many weeks are not the system Sqaure Enix are going to put one off there bigest games on...

What do you think?? Or will it go to wii?? Or PS3?? Or Xbox 360?? Or the new Apple console??

 now i don't have to read whole thread to know that it will fail. the only games that sells psp in japan are monster hunter, final fantasy remakes and spinoffs, some anime based fighting games.
