Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Wiiware really this bad?

all those things annoy but they aren't worth an article. I remeber when i first got my ps3 last March before background DL, mand that was a B!TCH!

Good chance that Wii haters will jump inside this thread and attack Wii for no apparent reason!

OT: I agree only problem is storage, and something needs to be done soon.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Wow I haven't read an article like that in a while - he did have a point though.

Everything he said except the storage isn't an issue. You can use your Nintendo Store Cards (Wii points) *which no one knows about for some reason* instead and it apparantly makes it very simple.

Mario running across the screen is the progres bar, he hits the first one at around 33% the 2nd one at around 67% and the last at around 99%, the coins are odd, as the the DL back ground, I find it very interesting that he would say that whent he Back ground for the PS3 is nothing more than "Please wait..." in white lettering over a black background with a little green/blue bar, the install screen is even worse.

Unless he's talking about going to play a game while it's still loading then that's just a PS3, not sure if 360 does that too. In which case I can't understand that as FFCC took a whoping minute to load... so I'm going to play a minute of brawl and go back to FFCC?

But yea the storage is an issue, for me personally because I have a goal and that is to fill all my channels with color; on every page.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

Nothing is a problem except for storage, and I don't think too many people encounter that problem (yes, I know, YOU have, and 100 others on the site, but that doesn't make you less minority - well, it does, but not much).

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

not every console has the same strengths and weaknesses. clearly it's not a major problem, because they are currently market leaders so i don't see how anybody can be critisising them right now. they know their own priorities, which has worked out well for them.

I agree with what most people have said, but I'm not sure many of you understand the credit card issue. He wants the option to save credit card settings, ala the ps3 and 360. He doesn't want it to automatically save credit card information. That would just be stupid. :P

Storage is certainly a problem, but Nintendo already promised a solution for that.

The rest of it is just ignorance. Mario is the progress bar. Storing credit card numbers on a video game system is a BAAAAAD idea. I'm sure Nintendo would just love to be sued by a thousand parents who weren't aware their credit card was stored after their kid went to town and bought 30 VC and WW games.

All it asks is the number, exp. date, and security code. You should have those memorized anyway.

yeah, because I want to memorize more numbers. Why don't parents just pay attention to their credit cards? I love that my credit card is saved on PSN. The most someone can buy is a few hundred I believe. That's nothing compared to if someone actually...I dunno...stole the credit card. If my PS3 gets stolen that's $500 down the drain. Anyone who says the minutes it takes to download isn't a big deal better not be complaining about PS3 game installs. "Go to the bathroom, get a sandwich" are solutions proposed for game installs that actually make load times faster. Not having background downloading is only not a bigger deal because of the storage problem (something that many people have been complaining about that Wii owners are finally admitting). If demos were actually available for games it would be a lot worse. Mario as a progress bar is annoying, but that's a minor issue that shouldn't exist because of background downloading.

what is this billing address thing? i've DL tons of VC and a few WW now and never been asked for it. is it an american thing? i just have to enter my card code and exp date.

play while downloading is silling for one-minute downloads.
storage is a pb but soon to be dealt with.
the main point is whether we'll see a good supply of games.
that's the only things that matters really.

I don't see any changes from before with the purchase of VC titles. Sounds to me like the writer had no previous experience with this process. Download speeds could be faster (slower than DL speeds through the PS3, PowerBook or PC at the same range), but my console could be closer to the router.

Then again, I do seem to recall people making a big deal out of nothing when it came to purchasing items through the PSN store as well. Since I'm the only one using the console, mine's set up for one click purchases.

Storage on the other hand, is still going to be a brick wall that Nintendo will eventually have to address. A simple firmware update to allow use of USB storage devices would take care of everything.

Other than that, it's strictly an issue of the games being developed. Nothing yet that interests me, but I'm sure the service will soon see its must play killer app.

Wait, they *paid* this person to write this? Wow, and I thought the editorial quality at IGN et al was atrocious--Yahoo Games managed to trump even their low standards.
