Forums - Sales Discussion - Around 300,000 PS3s sold in Benelux, but 360 still ahead for now.

To help a bit with math few months ago Sony Poland released that they have sold 50k PS3 in here (and more than 500k PS2 for that matter)

Poland's becoming bigger and bigger! I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years there are as important as italy or spain inside of the eu!

Yeah, there's a thread for Eastern Europe here.

About 712 million people live in Europe.

The Benelux accounts for about 27 million people.

Other European countries listed by VGChartz seperately:

United Kingdom: 61 million

France: 64 million

Germany: 82 million

Spain: 45 million

Italy: 59 million

Scandinavia: 19 million (if including Iceland and Finland about 25 million)

So "other Europe" on VGChartz probably represents about 376 million people of which the Benelux accounts for about 7% of the 'other Europe' population.

Some strong PS3 countries in 'other Europe' includes Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Austria and Switzerland.

I would wish the "other Europe" section would get a better description so to better understand what's covered and included within what figures.

why wouldn't you count finland? Scandanavia is Finland, Norway, and Sweden

Scandinavia is Sweden, Norway and Denmark. If you are talking about the Scandinavian Mountains yes, it's Finland, Sweden and Norway. The nordic countries is Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway and Iceland.

I don't know the hardware number but ocasionally the ps3 multi games sold a little better than the 360 ones so maybe is a little highter install baso or player buy the ps3 version instead like racing, soccer and Tomb Raider do in UK with a huge 360 installed base.

Good figures! According to VGChartz the PS3 install base at the end of March for 'other Europe' was 506K. If true the Benelux accounts for about 60% of "other Europe" sales.

The PS3 did especially very well in the Belgium. But for Switzerland Sony announced they already overtook the 360 install base early this year.

Personally I don't think the Benelux accounts for more than 50% of "other Europe" sales. If this includes countries like Russia and such, I would say much less.

yeah I recall hearing that % before

LMAO at guys asking what the benelux is

Yesterday in the Belgian newspaper, numbers from GfK Benelux:

They report that Belgium alone is projected to have 280,000 PS3's sold at the end of 2008.

(There you go, BKK2 ^^)

@ kamil: You can see where it is, especially with the information that was given earlier: Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands. So north of France and west of Germany, that entire region.

Thanks but I know where Netherlands, Belguin and Luxemburg are. Actually no one in this thread asked where those countries are. Unfortunetly few posters here didn't understand everything they read and were answering question that wasn't asked.

hehe, I only read up on the first couple of pages just now, so I hadn't seen you weren't actually the one to ask the question first, but that you just picked up on it ^^

@papflesje:
MANUELF asked if it is a part of Other Europe (in sense how its counted on vgchartz) no where it is in geographic sense.
