Forums - Sales Discussion - Around 300,000 PS3s sold in Benelux, but 360 still ahead for now.

Google Translation:

"In the Benelux, we are now about 300,000 PS3 installed, said Ronny Hoekman, Sony marketing manager Benelux. Our projections assume a fleet of 500,000 to 550,000 units sold by the end of December. It should allow us to exceed the Xbox 360 in September."

From their projections I'm guessing 360 is currently somewhere around 350,000 in Benelux.

Where is Benelux?

Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

Any numbers on the Wii in relation to this?

Wii wasn't mentioned.

Thanks, BENELUX is part of other Europe rigth?

Considering they don't mention the Wii I expect the PS3 to be behind the ii in sales, although the gap might not be that big. It is usually sold out in the Netherlands.

Good figures! According to VGChartz the PS3 install base at the end of March for 'other Europe' was 506K. If true the Benelux accounts for about 60% of "other Europe" sales.

The PS3 did especially very well in the Belgium. But for Switzerland Sony announced they already overtook the 360 install base early this year.

Personally I don't think the Benelux accounts for more than 50% of "other Europe" sales. If this includes countries like Russia and such, I would say much less.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PSN name: Gazz1979 (feel free to add me, but please put your Vgchartz name in the message!)

Battlefield 2: Gazz1979

@Gazz: What's the point of the map if it doesn't show when Benelux is?

@Mike: We don't know if those numbers are shipped or sold so it may be less than 60%. But I also think that "other Europe" is undertracked. Beside Benelux there are also rich countries like Austria, Switzerland and Ireland with population close to Benelux. Some other countries like Greece, Estonia, Czech Republic or Slovenia aren't that poor either.
