Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So Wii Fit, what do you think?

I only played for about 35 minutes tonight but here is my brief first impressions.

Presentation: 7.0, it is fitting
Graphics: 5.5...worse then Wii Sports in some aspects?
Sound: 4.5...pretty muchno music and whats there is pretty generic, and the instructors have odd voices
Gameplay: 7.5...it's fun but the balance games seems a little off, they really don't work out so good and make you contort worse then the yoga
Lasting Appeal: 8.5, I could see myself playing it a lot to get more fit

Overall: 7.5, Good

My biggest complaints are the balance games. They seem totally off. Also, does Wii Fit use a more strict BMI measurer? Most BMI measurer wait for 30.0 BMI before calling you "obese" but Wii Fit seems to call people obese at like 26.0 BMI.
But yeah, skiing is horrific and so is soccer, they don't seem to work. None of the balance games do. You have to contort to weird positions and stuff.

My favorite thing was the running...fun!

You've played the game for 35 minutes. The games DO work, you just need to get used to them. Give them time, dude! =]

I disagree about some of the balance games. The one that you roll the balls into holes works really good. I also picked up We Ski and I don't understand the mediocre reviews on that game. I love it. The controls are awesome.

The ball one is the only one that works for me and also the only one that resembles fun :P

Nah. You'll get use to the other ones. The Hula Hoop one is really cool.

You must be doing something wrong. The balance games works like a charm. I had several people over that have never played Wii / video games before and they were delighted by the balance games and they also managed decent scores.

Well Wiifit is great fun. My only complain is that it needed more mini-games or atleast more stages in each of the mini games that it has already. After 3 weeks that own it, me and my friends are starting to get bored of it. Actually last week we only played once for 40 mins. Anyway the board has future potential

I like technology when its moving forward..

PSN: methys

I'm very happy with it. I'm using it to train for Cross Country when I can't go outside and run. And like, I dunno, its fun! XD Haha

26 it calls you overweight. I am over 26 and that is what I am called. I don't recall when it calls you obese. It classifies my wife as that.

It does use the standard BMI range. I'm ~27.25 and I am overweight. I personally have a goal of 175-180 pounds, which would land me right at ~25. I happen to be a big guy (not one of those super skinny type people even if I get to like 5% body fat), so being In the high end of normal would be excellent for me.

Anyways, I like all the games I've played, but I'm really waiting for the boxing game to get unlocked. My upper legs kill after two 30min sessions, one last night, and one this morning. It really works your muscles that help stabilize your body, so it will definitely be a good addition to regular weight lifting.

Also, I love the basic step game, and think that if you could add a platform under the board, someone could make an excellent step aerobics workout like the videos, only with monitoring to see if you're falling behind or making mistakes.

The balance games are great, you just have to use subtle movements. I like the slalom skiing. I'm yet to get through all the gates, but I'm getting better.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
