Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I am selling my PS3, and getting a 360

Bet he had it refurbished and is afraid it will RROD again.

Yeah I said you don't "No you don't just tell MS the serial number"

I just wanted you to make sure you number matched the receipt because the guy might be selling you a launch console meaning you will only have a few months a RROD protection.

I know my shit.

@ coolestguyever

im buying one when theres a price drop, but for now im need to play with my friends over the summer

@ plzdontbanme

I just called microsoft, and the guy said I dont need a recipt, thats sony. for sony u need proof of purchase or u pay 170 bucks. you just need teh serial number for MS

If it were me I'd rather be outside hanging out with my friends then sitting inside playing games with the over the net... or at least split screening.

Kasz216 - thats what im thinking.

So MS goes by manufacture date for their warranty's? How would the know the system was purchased.

No you don't I know for a fact you don't. Just give them the serial number. My friend found a RROD xbox in an apartment sent it in to MS and they gave him a new one.

Thats because the 360 obviously hasnt been out for 3 years yet. But I bet you in Nov. they will be asking for receipt to make sure the consoles arent launch consoles.

This whole deal sounds a little fishy to me, someone is giving you

X360 + 100 bucks + 40 bucks gas money + 22 games + headset + 2 controllers

for a

PS3 + 9 games ( and maybe 2 sixaxis)?

Riiiiiiiiiiighhhhhhhhhht

Best of luck on this deal, but I'm doubting its legitimacy, also I think you're on my PSN list, so I probably need to delete you.
