as is the case with NG2...

so far the gameplay videos look boring (been there n done that) & there is NO talk about it anywhere, atleast not on these forums.

Talk about ignorance. NG2 is highly anticipated game for 360..and it will imo be equally rated as MGS4.

Anyway i think around 800k in it's life time 250k first week.

I'm thinking 600-700k sales in 2008 in Japan.

For hardware I think over the 4 weeks following MGS4 release cumulated hardware sales in Japan will have increased by 100k or so.
Not much but well Japan hardware sales are so low that's still like 3 extra months of weekly 8k sales :p

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

One thing that seems off about many of these predictions is the sales pattern that we've seen over and over again with PS3 titles in Japan. They usually have a huge first week, and then a gigantic dropoff after that, falling out of the charts by week 4 or 5. The Metal Gear Solid games, if anything, should be even more frontloaded than usual. (These are emphatically not casual games.)

I expect that Metal Gear Solid 4 will do 70% of its lifetime sales in the first week. I don't know what that number will be, but lifetime sales in the 500-700k region seem most likely. (You will never, ever see something like 200k first week and 800k lifetime; the sales pattern simply hasn't worked like that.)

My Website

End of 2008 totals: Wii 42m, 360 24m, PS3 18.5m (made Jan. 4, 2008)

225k - 250k opening week.
500k lifetime.

I pretty much agree with TheSource on this one.

WOW! MGS 4 did first day what most people assumed for first week! My own estimate was way off too.

Revolutions looks like the guy who could be closest.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Wich is already being discussed in following thread
