I don't know, you may have a point. I'm just going by what i've heard in numerous reviews.

I didn't say it was completely based on luck, just moreso than the previous games. But again, I haven't played it myself, this is just what i've heard.

Well, you did say "Winning is almost a matter of chance now."

The problem is that numerous reviews of this game had blatant mistakes in them. Next time, I suggest playing the game, or at least talking to people who have played it instead of listening to crappy game reviewers.

You're being a bit too sensitive.

There's a difference between "Winning is almost a matter of chance now" and "Winning is completely based on luck"

Bold: They may have exaggerated a bit, but i'm sure they weren't lying.

I'm just calling it as I see it. Let's see another quote of yours: "With the new Mario Kart, it doesn't matter whether your 'skillfull' or not,"

That is the same as saying that "winning is completely based on luck", so there goes your difference. Of course, this is all moot because as you said, you haven't even played the game.

Well now you're just taking my comment out of context. Looking at my entire post, no, I did not say 'winning is completely based on luck'.

Anyway, we're just arguing semantics. Obviously there's a certain amount of skill that is required, but beyond that it seems to be a matter of chance, or at least moreso than the previous games.

Bold: No, I haven't. But many people who have played the game are making this point. Trust me, it's not a conspiracy.

I looked at your entire post, and I don't see how I made it any different by taking it out of context. Your point is that you have read and believed reviews which say this game doesn't require skills.

But let's say you went too far and didn't mean to say that, what you meant was that this game almost doesn't require skills. Well, even with this updated statement, you're still wrong, no matter how many reviewers agree with you. You're welcome to play tomorrow in the VGChartz championships if you want to learn how wrong you are.

If you don't care about the game enough to buy it and play it, then bugger off with your copy/pasted criticism from reviews that you don't have a way to judge. I believe we have wasted enough time discussing something you're not even qualified to talk about.

Yep, you looked at my entire post and took a single quote out of context. I'm gonna quote you now (in context) -

NJ5 - "I'm just calling it as I see it. Let's see another quote of yours: "With the new Mario Kart, it doesn't matter whether your 'skillfull' or not,"

That is the same as saying that "winning is completely based on luck",

You were wrong. Period.

Bold: I value the word of several experienced video game reviewers over the random word of a Nintendo fan on the internet.

For example, many of them claim that power sliding has been altered to suit more novice players. I don't know about you, but this is something I used in previous Mario Kart games to my advantage.

This alone proves that Mario Kart Wii has been dumbed down to some extent, but i'm sure you will deny this.

I think we can both agree on stopping to argue on the semantics side. I've already admitted the possibility that some of your quotes were not what you meant, it seems both of us have realized that already.

Turning to the interesting part, let's talk about the power sliding then. Did you know that many reviewers didn't even understand how power-sliding works in MK:Wii? I don't remember seeing any review mentioning that the boost charges faster if you drive in the inner part of the curve. That's something which takes skill to get used to, and one of the many things that skilled players use to literally own unskilled players (except in extremely unlucky cases which are really rare). That's an example which should show you how unfairly this game was reviewed.

No one in the world understands it except you.

I'm sure it requires some skill, but it's still dumbed down in comparison.

If that's the way you're going to reply to my attempts at explaining you something, then I have two things to tell you:

1- This discussion is over (I don't like trolls nor childish people)

2- In this forum you won't survive long with this kind of attitude, so change it if you want to stay.

The worst thing about Mario Kart Wii is that the people who say it's dumbed down never dare to play against me when I challenge them.

Btw, the Americans weren't too happy when I joined their Mario Kart league:

damnit ron stop cheating :(

since ROl isn't in America he disqualified ....I win >.>

Rol definitely cheats. I don't have a clue how he goes so fast.

damn it... i went to the gym and forgot about the league...
im such a useless admin .. :(... can't wait to rape ROL next time though

^This coming from the guy with a record of 0-16 against me.

Besides, do we really want you to destroy our league

hahaha braggert ! I won 4 times !

Translation: I know i'm wrong so I don't want to continue this conversation.

You challenged my accusation and you were proven wrong.

Calling me a "troll"' when you instigated the debate isn't going to change anything. Get over it.

Do you call that bolded childish remark of yours a proof of me being wrong, when you don't even own the game we're talking about? Congratulations, you have just been reported as a troll. I was going to let it rest, but it seems you don't want to stop the bickering.

The entire debate is proof of you being wrong.

Your 'troll' accusation is proof of you being a sore loser.
