Absolutely no way. Metal Gear Solid games have never sold as well as Halo games, and that was on the two biggest selling consoles of all time. MGS4 will be lucky to get 5 million copies sold in it's lifetime.
My consoles and the fates they suffered:
Atari 7800 (Sold), Intellivision (Thrown out), Gameboy (Lost), Super Nintendo (Stolen), Super Nintendo (2nd copy) (Thrown out by mother), Nintendo 64 (Still own), Super Nintendo (3rd copy) (Still own), Wii (Sold)

If the 360 version of GTA 4 couldn't beat halo 3's launch, even though it had a much larger userbase then I really don't see how MGS4 could beat halo 3's launch. It's going to sell very very well but the week one hype for halo 3 was huge.
i doubt it, it will probably sell 1m+ week 1, but 3m, id be very suprised.

Halo 3 sold 3 mill plus first week.
Snake Eater sold barely above 1 million first week, and by that time there were an userbase of almost 80 million.

I dont really understand how people can thing MGS4 is going to save PS3 in Japan, dont they know Metal Gear always strugle to get over the million in there?

If this sells more than one million in the first WW sales it will have sold more than I expected.
