Thanks for those that went back to research this up a bit. We get a lot more accomplished when we don't rush off to conclusions just because it's fun to conspiracy theorize(which it is, but not when you're serious about it). As everyone can see Cubed3 changed their score from a 9.9 to a 9 and Gamerankings changed it accordingly. Does the 97.6875 numbe sound familiar because that's what I get in my median average when I add back the 9.9 from Cubed3 instead of the 9.0.

Great job with the conspiracy theory folks. Really showed some true colors with that one. I'll bet there will still be a good amount of replies condemning Gamerankings under this even though this whole knock Zelda from the top Lemmingsfest has been debunked. Thanks to Rath for the web archive page.

Frankly, I stopped caring about a game being one tenth of a percent better than another game when the overall score is out of 100.

But some people really do care about these sorts of things.

It only seems to matter when it negatively affects Zelda. No one made a big deal that a review got put in last month for Zelda almost ten years after it's release, bumping up the score. No one seems to care that the rest of the top ten, twenty and thirty get switched around and changed all the time. I would really like the top game to have been something like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 because then at least I know eveyone could just unanimously disagree, not give a crap, and be over it already.

 

Haha, this thread is so funny! A lot of double standards and hypocrisy from some Nintendo Fanboys. And it turns out it wasn't a conspiracy against Nintendo, just a simple change in review score from one site.

Well done to Onyxmeth and Rath.

Certainly shows some massive knee jerk reactions from hardcore fans. But lets be honest, if the same thing happened to GTA IV the same responses would have been seen.

Comes with the territory of being in a forum on a website that is INHERENTLY competative.

They took out their decimals on the site and decided to round down instead of up. I can't say I agree with the decision myself but it's their choice, not mine. Also, many of the Zelda reviews aren't 10 years old. Gamerankings is allowing retro reviews to be added, one of which was created only a month ago.

 

Game X is better than game Y by 13 thousandths of a percentage point. Big deal.
