naznatips said: We aren't limited to the initially available with these updates. I'm positive that some of these characters and stages we have gotten and will get are not initially available. And I completely disagree about stages being on the boring end (pretty sure most people do). For me it goes Stages > Music > Items > Game Info > Characters. Characters are the most boring by far because we will never get a new character in a character update. They will all be old characters or already announced newcomers. |
Personally, I find the Game Info to be the most interesting, but to each their own.
Also, I'm absolutely positive that only initially available characters and stages will be revealed on the site before Dec 3rd. Why, you may ask? Let's run the numbers.
First, assume that the number of characters and stages initially available and items will be about that of Melee. I actually suspect there will be more available in Brawl than in Melee, so using the Melee numbers gives a more conservative estimate. There were 15 characters (counting Sheik) initially available, and the Sheik situation applies to Samus in Brawl. So 15 characters, plus the final smash move, and 2 sets of special moves (since there are 4 total but updates have only had two in each) gives 60 updates without delving into hidden characters.
For stages, there were 18 initially in Melee. Going with that number and multiplying by 2 because there can be a separate music update for each stage, we get 36 updates for stages and music.
There were 31 items and 29 pokemon in Melee. So that's another 60 updates.
From May 22 to Dec 3, there are nominally 140 updates. Without going into hidden stages and characters, or even assist trophies, gameplay, standard move lists and other miscellaneous updates, I've listed 156 potential updates. So you see, there are plenty of updates Nintendo can provide without going into hidden characters and stages.
