about its final. the ps3 is deffo goin to be 2nd. possible 3rd, depends how ii does in a few years

I am saying this. I think we can be sure to see more than one God of War. More than one Socom More than oneResistance, More than one GTA, More than one AssasinsCreed, More than one OCD, More than one R and C. All of these and more. I can go on and on and you know I can because this is Sony's MO. Heck there are now rumors there may be another MGS. Do you actually believe any of these titles will end up on the Wii? I love my Wii, but it is a very different system from the others. Allot of the titles I mentioned are 1st and 2nd party titles. Hey I love my Wii, but I am at least honest with myself why it is popular NOW. I am not completely convinced it will be as popular a year from now let alone 2 and 3 years from now. I know what Sony has in store for me over the next few years. I however don't know what the wii will or won't have as of yet. this is where my questions come from at this point in time. I am lucky I have both so either way i win, but the arguement is far from over.

Not to take this in a different direction but this reminds me of when Sony fans claim Nintendo makes too many game of the same franchises without realizing that Sony does it far worse.

I myself don't think it's a bad thing provided they sell well, I just love the irony.

PS3 and 360 as artistic films and rich meals vs the Wii's popcorn flicks and fast food?

You're shitting me, right?

Games are still games. It's all about the entertainment, and for the most part all the HD consoles offer above the Wii is flash, not substance. I'm not saying the Wii is any better, just that I'd never make such a pretentiously fallacious statement to begin with.

The truth is almost all games are distilled sensory entertainment, with only the most threadbare and cliched plots holding them together. Only the very few games can elevate games as an art form (if you want to call it that), but in those cases, as with movies, it's not the big budget special effects that do the job.

@ all of you....

Didnt microsft say FROM THE START that they are out to be number 1.... isnt that microsoft comany itself?

they havent made a DIME of the xbox in 6 years and you think not being number 1 is on their minds... fools.

To sony and nintendo what you all said is true because they would go out of bussiness. but microsoft will lose money for years to be number 1 and be profitable as they DID with the xbox bussiness.

Dont get me wrong do they want to make money? sure but they have great sales on sony in 1 region and thats the place they DID not lower the price to wii levels. in japan they have and "others" they have. and they did that to keep sony from KILLING them.

they released a year early and lost billions on RROD to keep sony from KILLING THEM.

they paid rockstar 50 million to keep GTA content off ps3 so sony would not KILL them.

Now since nintedo is number one they are making a wiimote killer because nintendo is KILLING them

they are all making games for the casual player now (viva anyone?) to stop nintendo from KILLING them.

Every comany wants number one and thats what they all are going for. if you are telling me microsoft is happy with the soon to be 3rd place they are in and they are happy with sales of almost the same with a price drop you are fools.

They also said the goal is a long term one - the goal is to be number one eventually, but primarily to be positioned strategically in the next decade to come out on top for the battle over home entertainment, not just game consoles. Given the obstacles they've had to face, and, yes, they're own stupdity, they've done a fair job of establishing themselves as a legitimate force in the market.

Oh I agree Sony is far worse. I mean what you get 1 Mario a gen? one Zelda? Sony is much worse, but fact is the Sequals sell, and usually sell big. It is what it is. Unless Ninty plans on changing their normal plan of 1 per franchise this time around I can see sales dropping off a year or so down the road. it's the entire point i have been trying to make.

They've gone on record already with plans for a new Mario and Zelda on Wii so we won't have the void we had with GC.

3rd party revenue as a percentage of total revenue is already higher on Wii than GC so we know it will receive better 3rd party support to supplement 1st party.

Just marked the 3rd-party ones, before someone uses those to invalidate your point.
