For starters, let's give a refresher, I wont say names, as that might go agianst my best legal intrest if things turn south.

I worked at a company last year, and I did a good job! (that's what everyone said at least) I quit at the start of last month, due to them not paying what they should be, and not allowing me to go home.

I got approved for a new job, and I went to 'orientation' on monday. (last week)

I have been here all week, everything getting checked, and A-OK'd. And then at about 4:15 CST, I got a call saying, my previous employer, TERMINATED ME due to saftey reasons.

Now in the carrer I am in, that is the WORST thing you can hear. That means... I will *NOT* work in the industry for the next 5 years. Then promptly after telling me that, they tell me that they will not be able to hire me becuase of that.

Now, I quit. I knew nothing of me being terminated, and I knew nothing of any major saftey problems. I call the company I worked at, and they told me, on my paperwork they have, "Would be glad to hire agian." Now, because they told the place I am trying to go to work at, It almost cost me the job, and I am now on thin ice, untill things are figured out. Luckily I had a (imporant) employee, at the place I want to work at, listen to my convorsation with previous employer, so things might look better tomorrow, but as of now, I am getting ready for a 2-3 year lawsuit with a billion$/year gross income company. (I can not work becuase of what they said)

My life sucks.

Did you not notice the 2-3 year lawsuit? That's not very soon.

EDIT: And also, I would be lucky to get 300,000$ out of it. (sounds like a lot, but that would barely cover my lost wages... and i would have 0 credit, due to house/car/furniture being re-po'd due to no income, as the lawsuit would be a fulltime job)

EDIT2: I would loose roughly 100,000$ so to get back to where I am now, I would only have 100,000$ left over, as I say, if things would be lucky, and the problem with that is, I would be makeing alot more than that over the 3 years.

no, not there. However good guess. That's why I hate EA tho... because they are a pure and simple cash company, with no (EDIT: very few) creative games.

For a 23 year old who is not in the field, you seem to have good knowledge of the inner workings of the legal system. If your case is strong enough, such a large company will usually settle rather quickly after they realise they are in the wrong. Its to prevent them from getting into punitive damages. However, if they find out your financial situation is perilous, they might just try every trick your jurisdiction allows them in order to cause delays and increase your fees (or cause your lawyer to get discourraged if he is only working on commission). Good luck with your career. :) And don't worry, many of our lives suck.

 I'm not a insider, and I dont know alot about the legal BS, but I do know that I was required to sign paperwork saying all legal action will be at the state they are based out of, and I also know, from past law-suits, (and a few class action law-suits still pending, (from them screwing bulk employees))

I do know, that they will delay every way they can, and I know they have some of the best lawyers in the nation. Likely things will get worked out, I would rather not have to do that, as that company is so dirty, and they know it, they have good lawyers on their payroll, and it wouldnt suprise me too much if the local courts are too.
