GTA IV sold 6 million in its first week -- 2.8 million represents the first 5 days. Let's say that the first seven is 3.1 million US, 2.9 million Europe. Totally possible, as Europe was proportionally a stronger market for GTA to begin with.


 Don't buy that at all, US has considerably more HD consoles than Euro. we are talking about 17 million vs 11 million,

SDF assemble: we lost the good fight, but just like HILL-DOG, we will fight this war to the end. we lost one battle, but the war aint over, i am sureMGS4 will save us from this embarrassment. As noted, i will congratultes Nintendo on on a good month, not great, but good, and but realize one thing, the HD war doesnt start until MGS4 comes out.

Please don't blame Bodhestva for stating an obvious truth. We all know the NPD has a much larger sample size than ioi. I love ioi and I think this is the best site on the internet, but even he adjusts his numbers sometimes after looking at NPD. These numbers are gonna be very close to reality, and your trying to pick and choose the numbers that fit in with your hopes, and you don't really care about accuracy.

yeah, kinda puzzling that a month of biggest release this year would sell LESS console than the month (last one) with absolutely no good title.

i think the GT5:P example is the better question, sony has stated it's sold 2.23m copies (including downloads) and only 220k of those were physical copies in america? i doubt that

 Dude, the GT series is like soccer games: huge in Europe but sell like crap in the US.

Just to be a little nice to the PS3 and XBox 360 fanboys ...

All types of statistics float in a certain accuracy range (for example + or - 5%) for a certain accuracy rate ( 9 times out of 10) ... what this means is there is a certain percentage of the time (in this example 1 time in 10) that they fall out of this accuracy range (say -7.5%). This means that the Wii could (potentially) be overtracked, and the XBox 360 and PS3 could be undertracked, but I wouldn't anticipate that it would change their relative positions by that much.
