What's a zapper shell?

Nintendo DS succesor, to be released first in Japan in 2008. The DS might start dropping in sales once it reaches the amount of PS2s sold in Japan, which will be pretty soon. They need something new or a redesign to keep sales healthy. Of course, DS could also continue selling like crazy even after that, but they can't give that for granted, it's a big risk.

well I can tell you what it won't be... No DS successor, the DS is too young and sells too well to be replaced. Nothing that is not related with gaming. I'm not sure if you guys mean a cell phone when you say a wiimote phone, but this is cleary not happening. A microphone for the wii, however, is quite probable. A new Gameboy (but not a DS successor) is a possibility, but not very probable. The same goes for a redesign of the wii. Most likely it's nothing fantastic, I guess.

What is it about Nintendo that they always seem to have a huge volume of insane rumors flying around about them even though none of them ever come true?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought we were getting "Hardware News" not necessarily "New Hardware" ...

Personally, I'm anticipating DS and Wii connectivity news. In particular I anticipate there will will be Wii games which take advantage of the DS (Animal Crossing), DS games which take advantage of the Wii, and games specifically designed to work on the Wii and DS at the same time.

By the end of this year there will (probably) be more people who own a DS and a Wii than own a PS3; in 2008 the number of DS+Wii owners could be larger than the number of people who owned Gamecube or XBox systems. it would be a mistake not to take advantage of this large userbase.
