epic owns the ip, so therefore calling it something other than gears 1, 2, and 3 should allow that to slide. and exlusive only means timed exclusive. was ff exclusive to the nes and snes? yes, but now they arent cause of ports and remakes. exclusives are in reality only timed.

Christ why do PS3 owners suddenly think they are getting Gears anyway? I mean, how random is that. "Hey Gears won game of the year... Sony is going to compel the the company to make the sequel go on the failing PS3!!" Right...

This type of argument is much like a stoner who says: "Dude, you can't prove that ANYONE exists." Which is technically true, assuming one has a strong grasp of quantum theory. However, even Physicists will say that reasonable people can reasonably agree that we each exist. Similarly, reasonable people can reasonably call, say, Halo an exclusive franchise, because it's owned by Microsoft and any chance of a port is as distant as a port can possibly be.

Yes, a port of Gears of War is possible, if Microsoft goes broke tomorrow and Epic is free from all entanglements. It is profoundly, ridiculously and hilariously unlikely, however.

why do people on this website judge all ps3 owners off of 1 or 2 people...???? as a ps3 owner i dont believe GEARS will be on the ps3... but i do believe bioshock to be a timed exclusive

Good question. It actually reminds me of political debates, where conservatives will say "Liberals would like you to believe..." as if all liberals can be correctly grouped into a single category.

Now, don't get me wrong -- in both games and politics, it's often fair to talk about what most or many people feel. If I were to say: "Many PS3 owners believe that Gears of War could come to the PS3," that would probably be valid and fair. It's when people talk in absolutes that you get in to trouble. 

There is no news surrounding a contract for another Gears. CliffyB said they intend to do a sequel, which the media ran with, saying Gears of War 2 was coming, but it was later shot down by Mark Rein of Epic saying there was no confirmation. And Gears of War is published by Microsoft Game Studios, so the likelihood of it showing up on anything not designed by Microsoft is laughable.

There are plenty of games that have remained exclusive over the generations. Nowadays, because of the cost of development on the stronger consoles, there are less and less exclusive games for them, this is true. But that doesn't stop many games from remaining exclusive.
