i know its hard to top a mountain dew flavor, swarms of different commercials and people calling halo 3's release the biggest event in gaming history but with all these wierd collaborations and and a mgs4 world tour in the works do you guys think that sony/konami or whoever the hells in charge of the advertising are going a bit crazy with it?

No. Outide of these forums I really don't hear much about MGS4. Unlike Halo3... where several people I know couldn't shut up about it.

MS sent that MD flavor to gamming stores. The game crazy by me had cases of them. After Halo 3 hit they still had cases. They gave one to me.

Seriously nothing will top that.

Uh, no. MGS4 is only big to a small niche of gamers. Halo 3 was so big that even people who don't play games knew about it.

No and it's a good thing. Unlike Halo 3, MGS4 actually has a good chance of meeting the hype.

SSBB had more hype than MGS4 has. Halo 3 was just ridiculous. I mean a 24 hour countdown to its release on G4, cmon.

nah, mgs4 isn't the 'hype' type of game imo. it's just getting marketed, like every exclusive game should.
