Forums - Gaming Discussion - A little bit info from IGN Wii-k in Review

When was the last time we got to fly around a Final Fantasy world ourselves? I can't even remember....

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

Another update for this week from www.gonintendo.com

IGN Wii-k in review highlights

Here is a summery of the podcast so far from the users over at Neo-Gaf. Feel free to leave anything else you think is important in the comments. As for me, I gotta get to bed. My sister has a concert at the University of Illinois tomorrow and I have to leave at 5 am. Ick. Rawmeat should be back anytime to keep the Update Train a-rollin. Have a great weekend!

- Matt thinks Take Two will appeal Manhunt 2’s AO rating to the ESRB and there will be a really significant delay if they lose. Bozon says it’s the “most violent game he’s ever played”.

- Online multiplayer hinted at for Godzilla: Unleashed

- Kirby Wii at E3.

- They know about a couple unannounced games from Nintendo that will be revealed at E3.

- They’ve seen quite a few unannounced EA Wii Games at pre-E3 events.

- Cool, non-kiddie games coming from THQ

- Craig has an interview with Bioware about the Sonic DS RPG coming up next week.

And gonintendo reader wiim0te Says:

June 23rd, 2007 at 3:40 pm
there was some more info from the podcast that the neoGAF poster didn’t catch:

- Neo Geo coming to VC before or during E3
-Matt recomends buying Harry Potter, Bozon says rent it
-EA team member told Craig that they really want to make a hockey game for Wii
-Matt said magazine press was really impressed with what was shown at the Nintendo media summit for Metroid Prime 3
-still hoping to show mature game from AAA developer that does not yet have a publisher, VC dude agrees with Bozon and Matt that is does indeed look very good
-When talking about brother in arms DS, Matt asks how a certain furturistic FPS shooter that nobody should know (Halo DS anybody?) about would play on the DS, Bozon chuckles while Craig goes on about BIA DS
I think that is all.

Kirby Wii?? And a couple unannounced Nintendo Wii games? And what the hell are these unanounced EA Wii games? I remember read an article about a secret EA games that they showed when they demoed SSX Blur a couple months ago in Alaska or something. Hope it's something real good.

I like how they need to point out non-kiddie.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

RE4- GC visuals, superior version of RE4, not quite perfect- one quirk in the controls- can't look up and down with the Wiimote- up down left right movement done by analog stick- feels odd- feels like a light gun game. Dramatic speed difference in shooting compared to GC version because of the controls. Some off the waggle controls aren't needed- wagging the knife is unnecessary. But overall its the best version. Best looking realistic looking game on Wii

Just had to comment on the knife waggle (I hate that word), I actually really like the addition. The waggle auto aims to the closest target, whether it be opening a box or slashing a zombie on the ground, and saves you the time of pressing C to get out your knife, look down, and then slash the zombie on the ground. It has been more than a life saver for me several times just because it's so quick and easy.

Now the shaking the remote for reloading is cool but really unnecessary. I use it during really tense moments because it's just a little quicker, but otherwise I just press down on the control pad.

RE4- No GC controller support

Also that is just wrong, though there is a process to use the Gamecube controller.  You have to start the game with either the nunchuck or classic controller plugged in to the remote and unplug it after you get the Wii Strap message.  After that the Gamecube controller works just fine.

RE4.. blurgh no thanks, Scarface, ew, so not my game, Manhunt 2, yah right....

Read, read, read...

Now that's interesting!!!

Dragon Quest Swords and FF CC

"New RPG's- some new RPG's on the way. Hinting at sequal to RPG that came out same time as Baten Katos..Matt- "I might as well just tell you. Bozon- keep faith in Crystal Chronicles. It's going to be good"

BRING THEM ON!!!

Think they point it out because the only things released from THQ since the launch of the PS3/Wii are all Kiddie games from movie tie-ins  with Disney/Pixar the only exception is WWE Smackdown vs RAW and don't know how much you really differentiate that from a kiddie game.

Another update guys! Some news are quite interesting:

- A Nintendo franchise will be brought back from the dead and shown at E3

What is this dead franchise? Punch out? Kid Icarus? Hope it's one of them!

I believe it's Kid Icarus, there has been rumors for it too long and since Pit is in the Brawl... Kid Icarus Resurrection? As traditionally, it uses Metroids game engine.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Tales of Symphonia!!!!
That would be brilliant. Hope this is true.
