I hope MGS4 lacks the cheese factor of the previous three installments.  Considering they have gotten chessier each time out, I think I am in for hours of boring slow mo videos and lots of Snake showing his feminine side.  Does anyone else long for the days of Metal Gear when all Snake would say was  "Uh Oh.  The truck have started to move."

I lost interest at MGS2. The story line was so corny I laughed constantly. I haven't played the series since. The gameplay is unquestionably fun. I love the sneaking around aspects. But the story line, for me, is so intrusively poor that it's not worth playing anyway.

mgs2 was the best one imo...i got into that game so much when i was in highschool

Over the top crazy ass story is what makes MGS so great. What you don't get enough kill bad guy save something the end type of games ?

I don't mind games with little or no plot. I don't mind games with a lot of good plot. However, I do mind games with a lot of bad plot. It's not so much that I must play something that has a good plot. It's that a really bad plot simply intrudes on my gameplay. It's really hard to ignore all the terrible writing when it's shoved in your face over and over.

If you like crazy ass, over the top stories, go nuts, Blue3. I'm not saying no one should enjoy them. And as I said, the gameplay is great. I just don't prefer it, so I don't play it. That fair? 

I actually never played MGS, but will probably end up playing Snake on the wii.

I never got into it back in the day, graphics look good, played it a lil bit but nah!

 it was alot less nuts then MGS2.

That's not really a cheesy line... Also I like the MGS stories but they are hard to understand fully unless you really play it again and try and piece stuff together then you'll usually get a lot more out of it.
