that doesn't mean anything, they will give airtime to whoever pays them.  i highly doubt that NBC said to MS we'll do a bioshock movie as long as it comes out on PS3 too.  I think it probably went more like, MS saying to NBC, hey you wanna have Universal do a Bioshock movie, well help pay for it, because it will increase sales even more for our exclusive game, and could be a system seller still and you can have the profits of the film.

Wow..the Max Payne film will be released on 17 October 2008 according to IMDB.

Sweet! Definitely looking forward to this. Hopefully they'll faithfully carry that 40s/50s aesthetic over to the movie. The atmosphere really crept me out. Especially during the first few levels, not so much in the later ones.

Bioshock has a great atmosphere thats going to work very well in a film... If the acting and script are good it might be worth seeing.

This could be great! Bioshock is one of the few games that would work well as a movie. Now, will it be a simple retelling of the game, or something more interesting? Rapture's backstory, perhaps? Ryan's rise to power?

Video game based movies always flop. Remember the disasters that were Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tom Raider, Mario Brothers, etc.
I do not hold my breath for a successful BioShock movie.

Actually, Rock_On, Mortal Kombat 1 and the Tomb Raiders were all phenomenal. The Resident Evils are pretty good, too.

 only one of the above actually has a story that can be made into a full length movie without seriously adding stuff into the plot of the movie from the game.  bioshock has everything story wise to go straight from a game to a movie, where the others do not.
