Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Big Fable 2 news next week?

This game looks great. Just a note on expectations... I don't think Peter M. has hyped this game much at all. The press is doing the hyping.

the first one was an average, over hyped, linear game that had shit gameplay, and lacked rpg, and cuztomization elements. expect this one to be a minor improvement

Hmm I dont know whether you should pick up Fable 1 as I havent played it either. Im going to wait till Fable 2 if you ask me, as there were down points to Fable 1 as captainpreferences here very 'tactfully' portrays lol.

I might as well borrow it to give it a try, however, did you like oblivion?

I liked Oblivion yes but the combat was only okay for me, just like what you said. I think Fable is similar to Oblivion in terms of the different quest lines and the freedom sandbox choices that will affect you in the game. I think someone else who played Fable 1 could comment on what game is most similar as Im basing it off this review :)

Me too, and yahzee's review (though that may have been of the expansion). I watched some of the gameplay from the presentation at E3, and it did look quite good, so it is certainly a game that I will give a go

The first game wasn't that linear. This game is a WRPG and it will be awesome, but thats where similarities with Oblivion end in my opinion.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

I never suffered through any of the hype for the original, so I couldn't really be all that disappointed when I got it on the PC. The game was fun but shallow. It was essentially a game full of promise that succeeded in enough to provide worthwhile entertainment. To me the gameplay was not at all like Oblivion, which I loved.

This one looks great, and Starcraft can call it RPG GOTY if he wants, we can all use our logic to understand that he is hyped about the game and is making a prediction.
