the 360 is just starting the continuos fight for the second place, they will need another halo probably few months after Gears of war 2... And a price cut to match the wii... they will survive, and I am not sure if the PS3 will pass the 360 anytime soon.

OT: I'm kind of happy, things went how I figured. PS3 winning in hardware. 360 winning in software, but not to the degree that it's install base would indicate. All in all a satisfying feeling, now on to Others numbers. I can't wait.

I don't remember any xbox fans saying that 360 will outsell PS3 lifetime.
We all knew that PS3 will overtake 360 and that it will happen somewhere between 2009 and 2011.

so again, why is this the beginning of an end for 360?
360 owners have bought close to 100m games (will pass in couple of week or less).

Plus, why are PS3 fanboys celebrating for? Wii still kicked PS3's balls. (and 360)

360 had great numbers this week and will continue with NG and Fable 2 and others.

I don't see the part where Sony says they outsold the 360...

All the article says is that Sony commented on a boost and that MS hasn't replied yet

I don't think they'll comment on that till NPD comes out ,,,no company would compare itself to the competition when they don't know the competitors figures.(hence they waiy for NPD)

there is no 3rd place, there are only 2 HD consoles in the race.
