I saw the first second seasons of kenshin and I heard that everything after the shishio story arc was garbage so I skipped it. I then saw the reflection and reminiscence OVA's and i thought that the reflection OVA was pretty good. The reminiscence OVA was kind of crappy in that it was like a clip-show of the TV series. I don't think it did the Enishi arc justice.
When I read the manga, there was a lot less filler and garbage, and I was glad that they included Aoshi and Saito in the Enishi arc. Saito is a badass.
