Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Hideki Kamiya disgusted at Capcom's gimping Okami for the Wii

Re-releasing? It's never been "unreleased", it's never sold of out it's initial stock. Capcom still has a crapload of PS2 Okami games in their warehouse.

You can still buy PS2 Okami from the Capcom store.

I clearly meant fixing the lost credits in the Wii version. If this is discussed enough, Capcom could do something about this, maybe even offering a fixed disc.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

I was replaying to Oni's original post where he said

"Guess the PS2 version was the better version after all. If Capcom is really planning on re-releasing this for the PS2, do yourself a favor and buy that one instead. I know I'll be selling back my copy of the Wii Version. I don't buy gimped consoles and I don't buy gimped games."

That's why I try to make sure I quote relevant lines. It saves a lot of confusion (thought not all).

Apparently some people think that the 40+ hours you spend with a fun game isn't worth it if you can't watch the bloody ENDING CREDITS afterwards.

I mean, come on. Selling the game back to the store because of the lack of a few-minutes-long video that you can find on Youtube? Some of you people will complain about anything.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

So they cut out the credits. Sooooooooo...

While it's pretty stupid to do so, and I can understand the man's frustration, why would it make for a worse game? Does anyone give a crap?

Because it doesnt give the former development team, Clover, any credit at all for making the game.

(yawn) I can't believe I wasted more time reading this thread than how much of the game was supposedly cut out. To judge a game solely based upon this change is quite lame. To each their own, I guess.

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

To be fair, I don't think you would like it if you spent a few years of your life making one of the greatest games of last generation and then were not acknowledged for helping create it.  It's just unprofessional, and that sort of half-ass work should not be supported.  I mean honestly, wtf could have been the reason for neglecting a minute or two of video?  It's like rereleasing a movie and forgetting to mention the director.  It's just wrong, and if a better version was made before.....yeah.   And the PS2 version was damn flawless.

Sorry, double post.  ^^^

Add in my issue with the blurry textures making it unplayable please!

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

One the one hand: Okay, it's pretty shitty of Capcom to leave out the credits. That being said, they *almost* give a legitimate reason (something lame having to do with the Clover logo being shown and them not being allowed to for some reason) but, in all honesty, what kind of gamer is going to care enough about the credits that this will upset them? The kind that will also be able to go online and look up the credits.

Let's be honest, who sits and reads through all the credits of every game? Onimusha, I don't want to seem like I'm attacking you, but half your threads seem like they're whining over some minor non-issue. Yes, it is dissapointing, but come on. Do you have to have a tantrum, call the game gimped, and loudly proclaim you're going to return the game because it's 'gimped'?

Seriously.
