With the MP, it is too spread out, but it is still quite fun

Well, we just completely disagree then. I don't think any current generation game should receive higher scores for improving graphics and performance compared to their last generation counterparts. This really isn't an achievement from the developers but from the better hardware. Only if they push the current generation hardware more than they did push last generation hardware there could be a reason to score the game higher. In case of GTA it used to be accepted for having less impressive graphics and lots of pop up simply because the hardware wasn't able to run the game without these things. So they didn't get penalised for those in the review scores (unlike other games which had these problems). The current hardware is powerful enough to not have these issues anymore, so they really should have been penalised if they still had these problems and solving these problems isn't really a reason to improve review scores.

Its pretty simple - if the game does have *some* serious flaws, then eventually some "9/10" reviews will hit. It might take 40 or 50 reviews before they do, but they will happen. This will bring the overall score down to something lower than "98.8%" or "99.9%" (gamerankings), etc.

What I find sad - GTA4 now occupies the top TWO spots on gamerankings. When the PC version hits, it will almost certainly take the top spot - giving the game the top three spots. Are there any other platforms they can release on, so the one game can take all top 5, or even all 10 spots? (now combined with OrangeBox, two games will take 5 of the top 10 spots).

It would be nice if the game had "1" spot, and it mentioned the top platform (and any other platforms with it).

Like who cares WHAT platforms a game is released on when its the SAME (like *exactly* the same) game on each of them.

So what happens when the "extension content" (XBLA) is released? Is it classified as a new game? Surely the expansion packs will be reviewed, it will be interesting to see what happens if they get scored the same way ("makes the game better, therefore it gets a better score").

FYI - as much as I enjoyed Galaxy (and I did get all 121 stars), its no perfect game. Probably a 9.5, but definitely not a 10. Looking forward to playing GTA4 so I can see if its as good as everyone says it is.

and who cares if SMG gotta a 10 if it got one more games deserve it IMO. I usually dont play either of those type of games rentes galaxy for my son and he beat it I got board quickly the over graphicness and crudeness of GTA usually will put me off,

 But as for if it deserves a 10 or did somebody get paid and comparing it to SMG is rediculous IMO ones an adult sim with over the top gangsta reality the other is a kiddie cartoon game, which if and when a reviewer look at each game and they were the type games the reviewers enjoy they probably would get a better review the pay off part is ridiculous the same question could be raised about SMG did someone get paid ?

your response no way SMG was a genius compilation of supreme game making? and that is jst cause its your type of game and its faults cant be seen by someone so in Love with mario!

What you think anything deserves and what occurs in real life always have the possibility of being different , the magic of subjectivity.

No game really deserves what it scores , we're a society of subjective beings , there's no way of objectivley rating the quality of any game therfore this argument could be applied to any game really. If an individual plays GTA and feels it's a 10/10 game then it's effectivley that ( to them) only an objective being ( God ) could say otherwise.


I don't see why you'd rate a Zelda game anything above 5/10 but that wouldn't have any influence on reality. Your argument effectivley fails.

The same thing was said over and over and over again when SMG was released. No one was banned for it so far as I remember. The same thing happens everytime a new blockbuster game is released.

when SSBB or SMG came out Sony/360/PC fans only said its a good game not worth the massive hype. For GTAIV the game is basically being sh*t on by ever Nintendo fan on this site. Frankly all the Wii fans that are dissing the game are just jealous pricks.
