Yep, it seems that like I said, the "CONFIRMATION FOR 640P PS3 GAME" came from a guy on some forum that owned the 360 version of the game, and called it the inferior one because he thinks it will be 640p.

Everyone saw this as a fact.

Yeah, I was telling everyone this ONE guy was the only "proof" and it was said he did it will a SCREENSHOT and not the game itself, I am honestly surprised that this went so far, 360 fanboys just jumped at it to say they were better.

So basicly we find it ironic for ps3 fans to say it looks good enough.

Yes because it isn't 480p but 1156*640 May not sound like a huge difference but PC gamers can attest to the fact that there IS a significant difference between 640*480 and 1024*768 or even 800*600. Nintendo really should make an upgraded Wii that takes this small step. This would greatly benefit the console on all HD-TVs.
Seriously anything above 720p brings very little return on investment.

haha the reviews get better and better everyday

No, they shouldn't either.  Those kind of art assests cost a lot more money and completely remove the whole point of being cheaper for developers to utlize.

They obviously don't understand what the guys at Beyond3D are doing when they check the rendered resolution of the game. It sounds like they think the output is the rendered resolution, and we all know the output is 720p. The rendered resolution, however, is 640p.

I don't have to remind anyone here that the techniques used at beyond3d, aside from being very simple and easy to understand, have been proven to work in the past. They also discovered that Halo 3 wasn't rendering in an HD resolution, which Bungee promptly admitted and downplayed.

Beyond3D hasn't been wrong yet.

Leo-J: Do you seriously expect us to believe a writer at gamesradar who obviously didn't take the time to understand how the rendered resolution is determined instead of someone who has been right every time he's done this?

Hey Fatty, did you not read up on it? This guy used a SCREENSHOT he got off of the INTERNET from a friend, he didn't use actual output from the PS3, the screenshot could be a 360 screenshot for all we know.

Simply put, he jumped the gun with his findings, and everyone he told jumped the gun, and this proclaimed "fact" spread extremely fast.

Now he has been proven wrong with actual output from the PS3 version, using methods he himself would have used.

Rockstar has already said both versions are 720p....what is there to really argue? Unless they just right out lied...maybe they'll comment on it sooner or later.

PSN: Lone_Canis_Lupus

quaz51 is a french guy (well known on one of the biggest french videogame where i go but he's also on beyond3D and maybe others website) which has a technique to know what is the native resolution of a game before internal upscaling (because all game are 720 or 1080p after !! ) and the AA applied.

he's the man who has obliged bungie to say halo3 is a 640p game.

moreover, he's a PS3 fan !

I really doubt he's lying

Having lower technical specs is nothing good. You could develop the same game but have a higher resolution and it would STILL be better. HD resolution doesn't make a game more expensive per se. Seriously the NRDF(Nintendo reality distortion field)  is humming this evening.

Hahahaha at Starcraft and all the Xbox fanboys.

Fucking owned.
