alot of the biggest PS3 haters on here have posted they cant affored.

Its like BMW owner being called assholes on car forums, people have no good reason other then they drive expensive cars thus they are assholes in the eyes of those that cant afford them.

People fear what they dont know and they hate what they can't affored.

You know that Consoles aren't the most imporant thing in a persons life right? I mean there's a difference between having the money to buy a PS3, and having the money that you wouldn't mind spending on a PS3, and that's a huge difference! Why? Because lots of people would rather buy a 360, Wii or PS2, which not only cost less, but are also considered by many to offer better gaming experiences.

So unless your arguing that everyone who doesn't have enough purely disposable income to purchase every single console ever made is poor, than your arguments are as flawed as your demeaner is offensive and unconstructive. Could you please treat other users with some respect?

you know those arguments blue's making keep reminding me of someone, dunno..

FEAR -- this was a game ported to the 360 from the PC

That's exactly the reason why Fear is a bad example to judge the PS3. Atari ST ports to the Amiga were often slightly inferior to the original, it took developers years to truly tap into the Amiga custom chips to demonstrate how great the gap was between the cheaper Atari ST and more expensive Amiga with regard to gaming. I owned an Atari ST initially but the Amiga was clearly a more powerful gaming and operating system solution.

The reason why I own a PS3 today is because of the Cell processor, to make use of this innovative technology game engines need to be redesigned to tap into this power, something you will mostly see done for PS3 exclusives. This won't take years like was the case for the Amiga which was also years ahead for its time.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

I got a PS3 last week and I think it's amazing :) I'm well impressed with it's capabilities. But then I was looking for it to make something on my high def tv look good and to play high def videos and blu-rays. We have pretty much every recent console in our house and I think it's the best. Everything from the graphics to the menu system just feels more complete and solid than the Wii. That said the Wii is a nice idea, they just don't have any games which show it yet. I'm hoping for a decent tennis game.

Yes

I don't get it when people say they don't need/want Blu-Ray, don't forget that the PS3 games also use it, and that has the advantage in games such as R:FOM of having one of the longest single player campaign I know of, it takes at least 15+ hours I would say to play it all the way through, and that's not bad for something thats not much more expensive than a PS2 game, if not the same price depending where you get it; as you get a huge amount of playability becuase of the extra space of Blu-Ray, not even taking into account the online multiplayer. So even if the xBox 360 keeps up in terms of graphics, it won't be able to keep up in terms of the amount of game you get as it were. However I'm not sure about the Wii, because even though it uses DVDs (think that's correct?), it's not filling up the space with the xBox/PS3 graphics etc, so you'll proabably get as much video games with a Wii, possibly, as a PS3. Also even the PS2 used DVD, and on the last Ace Combat game, I remember that you could pretty much complete the game within I would say max 4 hours (I'm using that as an example as it was released on the PS2 later on, so it's likely that Namco were taking full advantage of the available hardware, and therefore likely filling the DVD up), so if that was happening last gen, with last gen graphics, I fear what's going to happen for the xBox, possibly the Wii, does that mean with improved graphics we are going to get even less game for our money.

I purchased two PS3 consoles at launch and sold one right away (only to pay for the second one because common they are expensive). With the cash i made off of the first one i purchased Tony Hawks Project 8 and Resistance and an HDMI cable. I played through both games completely and enjoyed them both (the only challenging TH title i've played for a long long time). Had to make some quick money in April because of a tax error i made the previous year, so unfortunately the easiest way to do so was to sell the PS3. I enjoyed it while it lasted but have to admit that right now i dont miss it. When Assasins Creed and Heavenly Sword come out i'm sure i'll feel the sting again though.

You only have to worry about Heavenly Sword. Assassins Creed was announced as a simultaenous release for 360 some time ago. It was running on 360 at E3.

Now to get on topic. I don't own a PS3. I do however live with my brother. He has owned one since December. Outside of Resistance and VF5, there hasn't been anything that makes me want a PS3. There are some neat non gaming features on the PS3. Not enough to make me want to seperate myself from $600+HD cables and a game.

I just register now. I have to admit that the view in Europe is a bit different. I have a PS3 and I enjoy it every day: as a media center, as a gaming console, as a BD player and my kids (4) too, and my wife too. I play RR7, Motorstorm, Genji days of the blade, Tekken 5, Oblivion, Super RubaDub, GT5HD Demo, Q*uter I am a bit disappointed by the quality of the MP3/AAC/ATRAC encoder (sound saturated pretty soon), so I use the TVersity to stream my iTunes CD. I also use it to play my PS2 and PS1 games (FF VII, X, XII, ICO, Road rash, GT3, Okami (what a great game). Well it's a buying that I will recommend for those who play in the living room and what to plug something to the TV that does everything.

Well, I would say this is one reason why it doesnt sell well ," its really not that expensive for a bluray player". I agree, it isnt. But I am more interested in the gaming aspects of it, rather than the entertainment parts. Not everyone can afford one. It is a great piece of hardware, however, just ahead of its time. I will be getting one, but not until late 2008, when there should be a significant price drop/better software.

Exactly.  Microsoft are trying to turn the consoles into computers, and releasing a new one every day is a good start, not working though.  Sony is focusing on multimedia, basically trying to sell their console for non gaming features. The reason why Microsoft love to say the Wii is trying to target different audiences is not because the Wii is targeting little kids or nongamers, but because the Wii is actually the ONLY console targeting core gamers.  A core gamer (not hardcore, just core) is anybody looking to play any type of video games.  Thats what nintendo is doing, focusing on gaming.  God bless Nintendo.

Curious then that Nintendo itself through the voices of Iwata and George Harrison said they are focusing in causal gamers.Odd that Ubi has created a brand for casual games specifically for the Wii and DS .Bizarre that the games that sell the most are casual games.Amazing that most hardcore gamers dont want to see the Wii anywhere their HDTVs .Mindblowing that analysts say the Wii is headed for the casual market .

PS3 may have a plethora of multimedia options ,but its still a game console .One year down we will see wich console has more hardcore games ...the PS3 or the Wii .

I pre ordered mine in January of 06, don't regret it one bit. It's a very capable machine with a decent game library that is constantly growing. Honestly, all the negativity I have seen has been almost entirely on the internet from xbots and wiitards, not to say that the ps3 doesn't have it's rediculous fan boys as well. Most people I know and talk to about game systems want all three, but simply do not want to buy them all. My friend has a 360, I have a ps3 and we play both together, there is no discrimination. Since when do people support their choice console like a religion? Like any other choice is wrong? The primary problem for people is $$$, I can afford a ps3, however most gamers cannot do so as easily. They just don't want to spend the money, so they talk crap. I personally think the 360 and ps3 are awesome, the wii is alright but I am more of a serious gamer and it doesn't appeal to me. I didn't buy a 1080p television to play kids games in 480p.
