Forums - Gaming Discussion - Street Fighter 4 platforms confirmed: No Wii and DS

ok...that reasoning makes no sense. I could only see this happening if MS and Sony paid them $$ to not put it on the beasts known as WiiDS.

Street Fighter 4 Press Release Declared Bogus.

GamePlanet, a website billed as "New Zealand's #1 destination for gamers" today announced that a supposed press release detailing the upcoming release of Capcom's highly-anticipated fighter, Street Fighter 4, was in fact nothing but a hoax.

When asked about the hoax, GamePlanet responded: "We're surprised that people seemed to buy into it as quickly as they did. After all, why would Capcom release this kind of information so informally, and to an obscure New Zealand website. Don't get me wrong -- we're proud of our country, but we're also realistic. Also, why would Capcom release their game to the PS2 but not to the Nintendo Wii? The Wii is capable of more than the PS2, and given the way the market is going, it would simply make no sense for Capcom. They're trying to make money, after all. Finally, if we had written an article, you can be sure that we would have put our punctuation inside our quotation marks, according to the standard rules of grammar".

The link is correct, only the site seems to be down at the moment. I just read through it, it´s vaild.

As I said, this was obvious. Street Fighter isn´t that popular anymore, they can´t afford to port the gam to Wii and DS and get only a small bunch of sales out of it.

So they can port it to PS2 and PSP but not Wii? It just doesn't make any sense at all, and you're completely wrong if you think they couldn't get the sales to pay for the port, they would get much much more than that. That's just a silly argument. If they didn't have PS2 or PSP on there I could understand, but if you're making a PS2 and PSP version the Wii version would be very cheap to make.

Come on, let´s be honest now: Third Party games do not sell on the Wii. That´s a fact people often try to ignore. It´s not that I don´t like the Wii but PS3 and Xbox 360 are the superior systems, hands down. Street Fighter IV is one of the games that really needs the processing power of HD consoles and can´t be displayed in 480p resolution, I guess.

lets be honest now, are you on crack or have you been disconnected from the internet for last 6 months? Go look at the news stories recently, go look at Nintendo's 3rd party sales. Come back to me when you're done.

I was here for the last 6 months, and yeah I know what the Wii third party situation is like - besides mini-games ports nothing sells on the system and Capcom knows about that. Just look at the non-exisitng hype of Resident Evil 0 Wii, they know how bad their games sell on the Wii.

The article is from a Japanese website, by the way. I dunno how to translate it, though.

Does anyone speak Japanese here?

you are delusional.  hype for RE 0??  You can play it on the Wii right now, it's a gamecube game for gods sake.  It's nothing but a quick port, and it's only being released in Japan.  Capcom knows nothing sells?  Uh...don't tell them to look at the sales of their games because there selling pretty damn well.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

What's up with the Germans on this side? If they don't pick on the poor Austrians, they make stuff up why the Wii can't handle this or that game.

Let's be honest now, you hate the Wii. You wrote the Mario Kart Wii review and only gave it a B+. What more evidence do we need? Go and hug your 360 and PS3.

Only a B+? Come on, Rol. I always liked you but that´s somewhat getting out of hand now with your complaining about this and that. "Oh, Austria is losing every football game on the planet", "ooohh beer smells so bitter" - what are you, the Nintendo defence force or something?

I think I rated Mario Kart Wii quite a bit high. I was actually on the C+ side of things as most valid review sites in the world wide web but I knew people like you would kill me if I posted such a review.

Let´s face it, Mario Kart Wii is just the same gimmicky thing that most Wii games are.

and the source is valid, I just don´t want to translate it with google.
