Again (as a normal user) I would like to thank lombard2578 for pointing out the mistake and doing so in a foreign language. Thanks.

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=2489 So the numbers are spot on for France. Do you actually have any evidence that any other numbers aren't "real" as you put it? Or would you rather accept a 1-week ban for trolling?

Well ,following the REAL data that has arrived or been announced there are many striking differences .

First ,we know April ended in Germany with 16K PS3 sold and 9K X360 .Official data from GFk .After the current numbers we should assume the PS3 numbers are half the ones in April while the X360 has improved its numbers .

Second ,for the April week we received data from UK we know it was something like 17K PS3 and 11K X360 ....somehow the X360 has also increased sales and PS3 has reduced more than x5 .That was a special sales week as there was gifts due to holidays and Nintendo explained it was their best week since launch with 22K units .Now it appears it sells 25K units all the weeks .Sorry but although conceivable it isnt very normal and I have serious doubts about this .

And saying that here in Spain the PS3 is selling only 2k weekly ...well it doesnt have too much sense .The X360 number could be ok ,it was more or less what it was selling last year weekly .On the Wii side I dont know ,the demand for the Wii here must be one of the lowers in the world judging by the availability in the stores since march but maybe they are bringing a lot of machines so this number could be .

But there is more .....vgchartz data puts X360 data in france at 466K consoles .If they have half that they should be happy .France numbers for the X360 were 43K for the first quarter ,so some 12 weeks ....3.5K per week .The numbers for the X360 are too low this time not by much by too low .And making a progression of sales since launch makes hard to swallow they have double the installed base of germany and 4 times the one of spain. No way ,the X360 must be quite lower in France ,somewhere along the 300-350K .

The data from germany told us end april there was 260K X360 in Germany ,so 20K less that vgchartz marks for there .Yes ,there is still 3 weeks of may to add but that doesnt count for 20K consoles if it sold 9K in April complete .

At least Nintendo has given data recently and Wii numbers cant be too far off ,but with the others two I think the estimations sistematically downplay the PS3 ,that it is at least selling units not like the phantasmagoric X360 ,and gives too much to the X360 although by small numbers .

To be clear ,these numbers can only  be considered estimations with a good degree of error .To admit these numbers are legit we should believe  not only that the PS3 has somewhat  imploded in sales ,wich could be after the launch and post launch sales  ,but also that the X360 has doubled its numbers in some key markets ,something not clear at all specially with the actual software drought .

I'll respond to your points in order: ----- Germany VGChartz Data, w/e April 8th through w/e April 29th: PS3: 16.4k (2.5% over your 16k) 360: 9.9k (10% over your 9k) PS3 sales have been falling steadily since launch worldwide, why would the same thing happening in Germany surprise you? In fact if you actually look at the weekly charts, PS3 last week only sold 500 less in Germany than in the last week of April - it's been a steady decline since launch. The 360 also sold about 400 less last week than its average week in April. ----- The UK numbers you mentioned were for w/e April 8th, the 3rd week of the PS3 in Europe. Yet you still think the PS3 sales levels are going to magically freeze at that level. By the way, VGChartz has the PS3 selling at 18k (5.9% over) for that week, also accurate. 360 was at 11.6k (5.5% over) on VGChartz that week, and Wii was at 26.2k (19.1% over). VGChartz seems to be consistently over but does not seem to be shorting the PS3 any. Wii is overstated by VGChartz but it's also a slightly different tracking period. And since Wii supplies have gone up why shouldn't their sales also go up in UK? We've seen that happen across all regions as well. ----- Spain numbers: This is just a random whine but whatever. For the last week's Europe charts. PS3 is at 2.5k, which is 13.3% of the Others total. Wii is at 9.0% of the Others total. So yes, the Wii is selling worse in Spain compared to the rest of Europe than the PS3 is compared to the rest of Europe. But the Wii is still beating the PS3 by about 2:1 there, which, if I might point out, is less than half the amount that it's beating the PS3 is most other regions. ----- France numbers: Take a look at this chart. The 360 sold a huge amount last Xmas. That it sold a tiny amount in the first quarter during the launch of the PS3 is actually normal. And as mentioned in the link I gave you, the VGChartz numbers match the first-quarter France numbers given very closely, within 5% I believe. ----- Germany LTD sales of the 360 as of w/e April 29th according to VGChartz: 271k. Your number: 260k. A 4.2% difference, in line with the rest. 360 also has sold about 2.4k a week in Germany in May, right in line with their April numbers, not "double" like you claim. ----- Here's the weekly sales graph for all 3 next-gen consoles for the UK, which makes up like 37% of the entire "Others" region's sales. Notice how every one of them, including the PS3, has high spikes for launch which then rapidly and steadily decrease thereafter, except for the Xmas bump which the PS3 did not receive. These weekly numbers are normal and perfectly believable. Did you even look at the weekly charts at all, or just go making up random conspiracy theories? Just because the PS3 isn't selling as much as you might like it to doesn't make the numbers not "real".

Nice post DKII

Diomedes, your quest is becoming very tiresome - you are getting dangerously close to a ban

Yeah DKII did an excellent job. Diomedes just seems hell bent on discrediting VGChartz numbers in Europe. Even if he lacks the evidence to support his claims.

My only beef is that the 360 numbers keep getting nerfed in Europe. I think the europe numbers are around 200,000 lower then what was posted in January.

Wouldn't it be better to have monthly european numbers for now? At least until you guys can give more concrete numbers.

Great, but it would still be nice if the UK total was the UK total, NOT the sum of the Europe and UK total.

http://vgchartz.com/eweekly.php

E.g. look at this week's Others chart.

http://vgchartz.com/eweekly.php

UK:
Console Weekly Total
DS 43,922 3,551,120
Wii 27,572 661,558
PSP 16,361 2,031,685
X360 13,366 1,292,728
PS3 5,446 285,940
Total 400,288

Total of the UK Numbers is not 400K. That is (I think) the total of the chart above and the UK numbers.

Thanks ioi for fixing that!
