Rumor: Metroid Prime Trilogy to be Released for Wii

Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: Metroid Prime Trilogy to be Released for Wii

Hmm... I borrowed all the previous Metroid Prime games, and actually don't own a single Metroid game, so might get this when it gets cheap enough... and exists in the first place.

Pretty pointless to port over Gamecube games to the Wii, though. They're fully backwards compatible, and everyone has a few GC controllers lying around.

Player point. Did you not see the comments on the control? Or do you think that wouldn't make a difference?

Business point. The old games are no longer for sale.

In my opinion DMeisterJ was simply trolling.

This would be a great idea, and no one complained so far except for DMJ.
I Havent played MP2 and I would like to play MP1 again, and would love if its with the Wii control scheme. Too bad I already own MP3, but anyways I get to play 2 games with a new control scheme, on of them which I have never played before.

Stop hating the Wii DMJ!! This is not a rip-off, its in fact a very good idea at a very nice price point.(Ofc its just rumor now)

Lulz

I'm not hating the Wii.

I didn't complain, I merely brought to light, the contradictory statement of wanting to put MP 1,2 + 3 in a bundle for the Wii, whilst complaining about lack of TP innovation.

@ Foshoryuken

Thanks!

Guys, you are all posting crap. DMeisterJ is right. Remakes are a bad deal, even with they come with improved control and new content. Retro should work on new games.

Imagine Sony remaking a PS2 game that got low sales and average scores on the PS3. Like Siren, for example. You would all make fun of Sony's stupid decisions. What about the PS3 getting last generation improved ports from games released on rival consoles. The wii got Okami, Scarface, Godfather and more. It is not like we have games like Ninja Gaiden on the PS3.

Face it. You are part of the problem.

That is not a contradiction. They are complaining about third parties making medicore games they don't want. They DO want the MP games, with the control change to see them from a fresh perspective. They DON'T want B-grade or less games.

How is wanting good games, even older ones, a contradiction with not wanting bad ones, even if they are brand new?

It's good games against bad games.

EVERY SYSTEM FAN WANTS THAT.

And I'm only putting that in all-caps to make it absolutely clear. You are twisting words to make it seem as though Wii fans are hypcrites.

Most of us would like a Remake with the Wii controls, but none of us (the sane ones) are asking for Retro, this could be done by a small dev party (Like okami or re4) Retro should work on new games...

I didn't say Wii Fans

I said people who talk about mediocrity among TP games, which if it isn't you, doesn't apply.

Well then a compliation of good good games, sold for the price of one, is not the same thing as a single bad game, sold at that price. So it's still not contradictory.

Wait a second. You are claiming because of this one collection being wanted, this somehow justifies developers not putting effort into non-collection games?

That seems to be the conclusion you are drawing.

They are not asking for just any one game being ported with just waggle. That are asking for three excellent games being ported (or reissued) with waggle. Not only that, it being sold for the price of one game, if even that high (why RE4 and Okami are sold for less than an original game).

The games they are complaining about are B-grade at best, even with waggle.

Rockstar gave the Wii Bully, and acclaimed game, but not one they were asking for. If the Wii got a GTA collection (III, VC, and SA), at the price of $50 or less, I don't think you'd get much complaining, as long as the control was good.
